Post Voting Crafting

Today we had to vote in our Federal Election and I decided to get crafty after voting which is a much more plesant experience – LOL.

First up is a card for the CAS Colours & Sketches #321 challenge. I flipped the sketch to be portrait rather than landscape and opted for no sentiment.

I stamped my butterfly image and heat embossed it in black. I then used my new Altenew watercolours for the wings and added a bit of a grey wash to the text.

I think the colour in the wings just pops with the grey wash.

Next up is a card for 5 challenges:

I loved the FMS sketch and used 3 critters (including a bird) from the Paper Smooches set ‘chubby chums’ that I watercoloured, fussy cut out and added in place of the circles in the sketch. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘itty bitty birthdays’ and the striped DSP is from a MFT 6×6 pack called ‘black & white stripes’.

I think any kid would love this fun, bright card!

Next up I’m playing along with Color Throwdown #543 and The Flower Challenge #32.

I got this new set from Stampin up called ‘Free as a bird’ that is due to be released in the new 2019/20 SU catty and I think it is fabulous. I used the matching DSP ‘Bird Ballad’, double stitched nested dies along with my woodgrain embossing folder and my Stampin Blends for colouring in the stamped images.

I just love this colour scheme, so soft and feminine.

Lastly is a card for Less is More #395 and AAA Cards #140.

I used a stamp set I’ve had for ages from Papertrey Ink called ‘Uncorked’. It’s got lots of great wine glass and bottle images along with some fab sentiments. For my card I went a tad snarky! I used a few of my Catherine Pooler Design inks from the Spa Collection.

I know just the lucky person who’ll receive this card!

Well that’s it for today – thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  1. All three cards are amazing and very different. Love the row of wine bottles on your last one and that snarky sentiment is just so fun! Thanks for playing at AAA Cards, hope to see you joining in with future challenges too.

  2. You had a great session. Your critters card is just right for our challenge (great saturated colours and cheeky critters), but then again so is the butterfly (which I love). Thanks for sharing with us at 2CraftyCritter Crazies, hope to see you again soon. CarolG

  5. What wonderful cards! Love the beautifully coloured butterfly with the great text background. The one with the birds is lovely with the soft colouring and the wood grain background. The second one with the “chubby chums” is perfect for a child – great colours and perfect set against the striped background. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Watercolour with that one!

  6. So many great cards all in one post. I love the colours you chose for your wine bottles, all so fruity looking, and great with that fun sentiment. I also love your bird card with the grey woodgrain panel, so stylish.

  7. That is a fab collection of cards and every single one of them looks so professional. The butterfly on the first is gorgeous and the stripes on the second really make those critters pop. Your third card has fantastic colouring and those wine bottles with the brilliant sentiment on the fourth are just perfect for our challenge at Less is More. Thank you so much for popping that card in to us xx
