Fusion: Fruit

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I was inspired by the layered cake in the photo along with the colour scheme. I used a Stampin Up set called ‘Birthday Goodness’ and inks in Merry Merlot and Berry Burst. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the flowers and cake base for that extra bit of sparkle.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 19th August at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 18th August 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #283 – Tristan’s Challenge: Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and I’m our host with a feminine twist challenge this week!

I recently bought the Peony Garden suite from Stampin Up and had to play with those gorgeous dies and DSP. I cut the floral petals and leaves from vellum and coloured them with my Stampin Blends. I added them to a die cut white panel onto of a piece of DSP then onto a grey card base.

I found that if you gently wipe the edges of the petals with a baby wipe they curl just a little. I love how this made the flower look real.

Come join in the fun and make a feminine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 11the August at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 10th August 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

The Male Room Challenge #141 – 7th Birthday – Guest Designer

Hello there. Today I am Guest Designing over at The Male Room Challenge for their 7th Birthday.

I decided to make a peek-a-boo card for one of my nephews who’s birthday is coming up this month.

I used stamp sets from Stampin Up ‘Zany Zebras’ and Avery Elle ‘ Balloons’ along with some Catherine Pooler Design inks. I followed a tutorial from Jennifer McGuire .

This is the front of the card
This is the inside of the card where you can start to see the changing of the zebra image.
This is the inside of the card now the image has fully changed.

I had fun making this card. Come join in the fun over at TMR and make a masculine birthday card.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Sunday Crafting

Today I’m crafting alongside Miss K. She’s playing with beads and I’m playing with paper and challenges (again- LOL).

First up is card for:

I was inspired by the pink tree and the idea of creating a pink starry sky. I sponged purple and pink inks to make the sky and added a bit of black to the edges for depth. I then added some water droplets to look like stars. The tree is heat embossed in black and the gold thread behind the sentiment looks like the tinsel on a tree.

Next is a card for:

I’ve never made a slimline card, so felt a bit out of my comfort zone. I reached for some SU DSP ‘Pampered pets’ and fussy cut the Great Dane and ball; added them to a text panel and a sentiment I made on my PC. I’m missing playing with all my friends now we’re in our COVID-19 second wave lock-down.

Next is a card for TGIF Challenges #275.

I decided to combine the themes of both pictures. I used a gingham DSP from SU and then a flower from Altenew ‘Garden Treasures’.

Next is card for Less is More #425 – Summer Flowers.

Again I used the Altenew ‘Garden Treasures’ flower in a stitched die panel and a sentiment from the Ton. I love the sunny yellow petals of this flower.

Well, that’s it for today – I’ve got Suncorp Super Netball to watch! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
