You’re my best friend

Today I was able to grab a few minutes to make a card for my best friend. She has been there for me this past year, supportive of me while I try to deal with my mother’s cancer battle.

I’m entering this card over at :

Used a floral stamp set from Stampin Up called First Frost for the flowers inked up in Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green. I used the Tine Tile embossing folder for my circle (love this EF) and the sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays called Sassy Smiles.

I’m off to put this in the post then visit my mum in hospital.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC#201 – Marsha’s Special Two-Week Year End Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there,it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This time it’s a 2 week challenge hosted by the lovely Marsha and it’s anything goes!

I made a card for my daughter who is graduating primary school.  I wanted her to feel proud of her achievements and that she can do anything she puts her mind to.

I used the ‘Beautiful You’ stamp set from Stampin Up and added a black square and twine to mimic a graduating mortar board. Her school colour is light blue so I added a bit of that colour to the dress with my Stampin Blends. I created the sentiment on my PC.

Come join in the fun and make any sort of card you feel like. Check out the projects that the artists at WatercoolerWednesday Challenges have created then take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 1st January at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Tuesday 5pm Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Making a list…….

10 days till the big man arrives and I’ve been busy wrapping and making more greeting cards, gift card and note pad holders.

My  card today uses a new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called “Christmas Cheer’ – I love this Santa  and the great matching sentiments.

I’m entering it over at:

I masked off and sponged a rectagle with some Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers. I flicked some water droplets to simulate snow. I stamped the Santa and coloured him with my Stampin Blends and fussy cut him out, added some striped washi tape for the border on the edges of the card and finally stamped the sentiment.

I hope you’re getting close to finishing your Christmas preparations. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC#200 – Helen’s ‘All About Occassions’ Challenge

Feel free to make a card for any special occassion  – birthday, wedding, anniversarty, thanks – you get the drift. Since it’s our 200th challenge you might be inspired to make a congratulations card – LOL.

For my card I used a new stamp set (Butterfly Gala) and dies (Butterfly Beauty) from Stamping Up – this set is out in the new Occassions catalogue in January 2019.  I used card stock in Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay. The black and white DSP is from my scraps stash.

Challenge crafting day!

Well the hot weather has turned and it’s a lot more pleasant temperature for playing in my craft room today.

First up is a card using a stamp set called ‘Catitude’ I got with a crafting magazine and I’m entering it into the current challenge at the Little Red Wagon which is all about purrs and wags.

I kept the card CAS, colouring the cat image with my Stampin Blends, added a strip of gold glitter paper and black and white stripe DSP to the edge before mounting it on a black card base.

I love how cute this card is and can’t wait to play with the other cat stamps in this set.

Next up is a technique card that I’m entering for the following challenges:

I stamped my sentiments and heat embossed in black (my celebrate part being Christmas sentiments), then stamped a few stars and heat embossed in Lindy’s Stamp Gang ‘Angel Wings Gold’ (my emboss resist and stars part); then I sponged Catherine Pooler Design inks in Stone Blue, Juniper Mist, Daydream and Midnight onto a masked panel to create a night sky and flicked some water droplets (my ‘I’ part being inky).

The stars are really shimmery gold IRL. I haven’t tried many night sky backgrounds but think this one worked out pretty well.

This next card is for the CAS-ual Fridays current challenge which is a photo inspiration challenge.

I was inspired by the trees in the ornament and decided to use a new stamp set by Kaiser Craft ‘Sparkle’ I received from my friend Michelle for Christmas. The sentiment is also a Kaiser Craft one from the “Christmas Wishes’ set. I inked up 3 trees using my Kaleidacolor ‘Caribbean Sea’ ink, which gives such great colour blending to my card.  I stamped the sentiment in basic black over the top. I really love how this card came out.

I’m now off to make some Christmas shortbread

Almost done making Christmas cards

After writing all my cards that need to go into the mail, I found I still need just a few more to attach to gifts that I am giving some friends. Luckily there are still some challenges with Christmas themes that have helped to inspire me.

I’m entering my card today into 5 challenges:

I made an alcohol ink background with crimson and lettuce alcohol inks. I then die cut a vellum tree using a Stampin Up die from the Winter Woods bundle. I then cut the alcohol ink panel with a stitched rectangle die to make the panel smaller and fit the Sisterhood fo Crafters challenge (which you can see in the close up).

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

WWC#199 – Tristan’s Feminine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. I’m your hostest this week with a feminine anything goes challenge.

My card is a thank you card for my daughter’s netball coach; she’s been an amazing inspiration and my daughter’s netball skills have improved so much that she has made a development representative team next year.

I used a stamp set from Stampin Up called ‘First Frost’ inked up in Berry Burst and Old Olive. The sentiment is also Stampin Up called ‘Watercolour thank you’ I love these flowers and how versatile this set is – I’ve been busy using it for Christmas cards so it was on my desk ready to use for this challenge. The base panel is embossed with the tin tile embossing folder.
