CAS Colours & Sketches #394 – Guest Designer

Well it’s my last post as Guest Designer over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I’ve had a blast joining this amazing Design team. Thanks so much for having me.

This week, it’s a sketch for you. Feel free to use whatever shape you like but there must be 9 of them!

I used some stamps from the SSS ‘Just Miss You’ kit. I liked the idea of multi-stamping the little hearts and adding the sentiment over the top. I kept it red and black and used a bit of matting to support the stamping.

I’m really happy with how this card turned out. Come join in our fun, make a card using these wonderful colours and link it up to the challenge blog by Monday 2nd November.

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy the rest of your day.

Some more cards on a Sunday!

I love a 3 day weekend – always extra time to craft and play with challenges!

First up is a card for:

I choose the options of plaid, gold and ribbon from the Festive Friday challenge and ribbon and metallic from Just Add Ink.

I love how simpler and quick this card was.

Next is a card for ABC Challenge – U is for Up in the air and V is for Vixen.

I kept it simple with a reindeer die over a piece of alcohol ink on a white card base.

Next is a card for:

I used the Stampin Up dies ‘Forever Fern’ layered over a gold circle and some DSP. I love the texture these die cut leaves provide.

Lastly is a card for the Colours Hues #4.

I used the ‘Watercolor Wonder’ stamp set from PTI along with Stampin Up inks in Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Smokey Slate. I love the look of these paint brush stroke stamps. I added a bit of silver thread, pearls and a die sentiment that I cut 5 times to provide some height.

Well that’s it for this Sunday of crafting, I need to help Miss K get ready for her 1st day back in the classroom tomorrow after remote schooling since term 1!

Enjoy the rest of you day and that’s for stopping by for a look.

Grand Final Day Crafting

It’s the AFL Grand Final today and due to COVID-19 its being held in Queensland and at night as Melbourne is still in lockdown and we can’t hold or go to sporting events! So whilst I wait for it to come onto the TV, I’m getting my craft on!

First is a card for The Flower Challenge #49- Circle.

I just received a new stamp set from Altenew ‘Bright Blossoms’ that I decided to stamp to form a rough circle shape on my card. I added a few sequins to provide a bit of balance.

Next is a card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #40 – Pink Christmas.

I used a stamp set from Clearly Besotted ‘Modern Christmas’.

Lastly is a card for Freshly Made Sketches #458.

I used the Clearly Besotted stamo set again and decided to make a slimline card with 5 tress to match the sketch and stmaped my sentiment across the centre of the tress.

I love these tress and will be suing this set a lot more this Christmas season.

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

CAS Colours & Sketches #393 – Guest Designer

It’s my 3rd week as Guest Designer over at CAS Colours & Sketches and boy do we have a great colour scheme for you.

They are Stampin’ Up color names just for reference; you can substitute other companies’ colors so long as they match closely. The three colors must be the only ones used, with the addition of white, ivory, black, grey, brown, metallic (gold, silver, or copper) or kraft for card bases/layers, image outlines, and sentiments.

I used a stencil from Catherine Pooler Designs “Square Dance’ and sponged the 3 colours in a graded fashion. I added a sentiment from the Ton ‘Birthday Sentiment Stips’, a bit of woven ribbon and a few sequins.

I’m really happy with how this card came out. Come join in our fun, make a card using these wonderful colours and link it up to the challenge blog by Monday 26th October.

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy the rest of your day.

Sunday Crafting

Hello everyone, today we find out if our Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions are loosened or not – so to fill the time till the announcement, I decided to craft.

First up is a project for:

As you can see I chose the diagonal of Gold foil/Glitter, Circle and Designer Paper from the Tic Tac Toe challenge. I’ve been making a lot of Christmas ornaments lately so decided to make a wreath using a variety of DSP. I cut squares of 6×6 and folded the top into a point and then layered them in a circular pattern to form the wreath.

This counts as lots of layers right?

Next is a card for:

I decided to use 2 stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp called ‘Ugly Sweater’ and a sentiment from ‘Sweater words & appliques’. I stamped the sweater on from Stampin Up DSP and popped it up over a little bit of sponging for depth.

That’s it for now, thanks for stopping by and let’s keep our fingers crossed we’re able to be a bit more normal and get outside our 5km bubble so we can see some family.

Fusion: Purple Night

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I used both the sketch and photo colour scheme for my card. I did a bit of a colour wash on some shimmery white cardstock, then stamped the Altenew ‘Paint-a-Flower: Hydrangea’ over the colour. I added some colour o the flowers and leaves with my Stampin Blends, then added some matching cardstock along the edges to follow the sketch. The sentiment is from the Ton ‘east Expressions: Birthday’.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 28th October at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 27th October 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.
