WWC #223 – Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and its an anything goes challenge week!

Today, I decided to make something other than a card – I made a stickey note holder/cover. I used some new Stampin Up products that I was able to get on pre-order as I’m a demo. The DSP is called Bird Ballad and the stamp set is called ‘Free as a bird”. I love both these products and have ordered a second DSP pack! I coloured the bird with my Stampin Blends and then fussy cut it out.

I just love how this project came out.

Come join in the fun and make a project of your choice. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 4th June at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 3rd June 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #222 – Helen’s “All About Occasions” challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Helen is our lovely host this week

Today, I have created a sympathy card using an old Stampin Up stamp ‘Swallowtail’ which I coloured with my Stampin Blends and then cut away a portion. I added some super glittery gold paper to the underside and the sentiment I heat embossed in gold.

I just love how this card came out.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choice. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 28th May at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 27th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

I’m going to add this card over at Inkspirational Challenge #187 which is all about gold dipped – so I think my gold glitter and sentiment qualify.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Today, I’m over on the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog as their guest designer as I was crowned Queen of their N is for Nerd challenge, so I get to play along this week with their I is for Ironmongery (steampunk) challenge.

This challenge has pushed me out of my comfort zone as I’ve never made a steampunk card and my style is usually very CAS, so this card has way more elements to it than usual.

Firstly I smooshed some orange and green watercolours onto my panel, then black embossed the cat from Stampers Anonymous called ‘Mister Meow Meow & Tweets Mcgee’. I love how proper this cat looks and added a monocle filled with crystal effects to look like glass.

Next I stamped some texture with a stamp from Stampin Up ‘Playful backgrounds’ and a sentiment from Altenew ‘Bad Days Happen’. It then needed just a bit more, so I added a die cut of gears from Stampin Up ‘Geared Up Garage’ and a clock face, spoon and fork that have been in my craft stash for many, many years.

I’m pretty pleased with how this card worked out for a first go at steampunk. Why don’t you come join in the fun; check out the blog for all the other amazing creations from the SOSS designers.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Post Voting Crafting

Today we had to vote in our Federal Election and I decided to get crafty after voting which is a much more plesant experience – LOL.

First up is a card for the CAS Colours & Sketches #321 challenge. I flipped the sketch to be portrait rather than landscape and opted for no sentiment.

I stamped my butterfly image and heat embossed it in black. I then used my new Altenew watercolours for the wings and added a bit of a grey wash to the text.

I think the colour in the wings just pops with the grey wash.

Next up is a card for 5 challenges:

I loved the FMS sketch and used 3 critters (including a bird) from the Paper Smooches set ‘chubby chums’ that I watercoloured, fussy cut out and added in place of the circles in the sketch. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘itty bitty birthdays’ and the striped DSP is from a MFT 6×6 pack called ‘black & white stripes’.

I think any kid would love this fun, bright card!

Next up I’m playing along with Color Throwdown #543 and The Flower Challenge #32.

I got this new set from Stampin up called ‘Free as a bird’ that is due to be released in the new 2019/20 SU catty and I think it is fabulous. I used the matching DSP ‘Bird Ballad’, double stitched nested dies along with my woodgrain embossing folder and my Stampin Blends for colouring in the stamped images.

I just love this colour scheme, so soft and feminine.

Lastly is a card for Less is More #395 and AAA Cards #140.

I used a stamp set I’ve had for ages from Papertrey Ink called ‘Uncorked’. It’s got lots of great wine glass and bottle images along with some fab sentiments. For my card I went a tad snarky! I used a few of my Catherine Pooler Design inks from the Spa Collection.

I know just the lucky person who’ll receive this card!

Well that’s it for today – thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #221 Tristan’s Masculine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and I’m host this week with a masculine anything goes challenge.

My card today uses a stamp from Darkroom Door called ‘Guitar’ . I stamped it with some Versafine black ink and then coloured the guitar with my cherry cobbler stampin blends. I then added some chrystal effects to make the guitar super shiny and the card was done.

Come join in the fun and make a masculine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 21st May at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 20th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Love a bit of snark on a card!

What can I say – I love cheeky cards!

When I saw the current theme over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #134- W is for WTF I knew I had to play along. I was also inspired by the colour theme at the Paper Players #441 and the stars at Time Out Challenges #135.

I had the perfect stamp from Unity Stamps called ‘WTF Fairy’ and the sentiment is from the add on set ‘Your Fairy Godmother’. To colour my fairy, I scribbled my Stampin Up markers in the PP colours on my craft matt and then used my water brush to roughly colour her in. I added some gold to her crown and wings. I mounted my panel on some black and white patterned DSP and then onto a black card base. The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.

Sorry the image is a bit dull, we’ve had a super cloudy day here today.

I know exactly which friend is getting this card! Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Mother’s Day Crafting

Well it’s Mother’s Day here in Australia; I’ve had beakfast in bed and received some lovely goodies from Miss K and the hubby; now I’m getting a bit of crafting time before we head off to see The Hustle at Doncaster Gold Class.

First up is a card for Happy Little Stampers – Anything Goes with Dies.

I used a layered floral cover die set from Altenew, which is sponged with Catherine Pooler Inks in Roe pettal and Eucalyptus. The sentiment is also from Altenew ‘Label love’. I mounted both dies onto a black card base to really make it pop.

I love the contrast on this card with the black background.

Next is a card for a brand new challenge over at AAA Cards Birthday #1 Anything Goes and The Male Room Challenge #110 Add an Age.

I made an alcohil ink background with my AI Pearls, added some silver foil and then die cut the number 16 from the AI panel and popped it up in a circle window. I stamped the sentiment in Momento black in. The die and sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘Number of years’.

Now I just need to wait for someone to turn 16 to be able to use this beauty!

My last card for today fits 2 challenges -> Just Us Girls #487 – Bold Letters and CAS(E) this Sketch #321.

This card was super quick to make. I used some Stampin Up papers in rainbow colours cut into 2cm pieces and attache them to my card base in rough overlapping style. I heat embossed the setiment from CAS-ual Frodays ‘Shenanigans’. I added a trio of vellum daisies with some bling to their centres and the card was done.

I love how fun this card looks.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day.

WWC #220 Kath’s ‘All About Occasions’ Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Kath is our lovely host this week.

My card today uses a stamp set I got as a gift from a friend in Adelaide and I can’t get enought of those little piggies. They have the most adorable expressions. My sentiment is from Hero Arts ‘Snarky Mix & Match Messages’ and is perfect for someone who’s about to turn a big ZERO birthday! I added the black splatters for a bit of a piggy look!

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 14th May at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 13th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Christmas at Sweet Stamping – Anything Christmas & Optional Snowflakes

Well, this month is we have another challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stamping challenge blog with an optional twist to include snowflakes.

For my card, I created an emboss resit background with a snowflake card from Kanban ‘Vintage snowflakes’ and Distress Oxide inks. I added a little bit of gold thread to provide some balance to the top of the card.

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CaSSettes have made. Link up your card by 3am 12th June (Melbourne time) or 6pm 11th June (UK time).

I’m also going to enter this card over at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kylie’s International Blog Highlights – May – Encouragement Theme

I’ve recently joined the Stampin Up team of Kylie Bertucci called the Crazy Crafters and am joining in her blog hop all about encouragement cards.

Kylie has a #loveitchopit idea to use your DSP, so I’ve taken the plunge and started to chop my DSP into card fronts and strips. I did a lot of deep breathing while I did this as I’m a bit of a paper hoarder. I also used Kylie’s fabulous card size templates which make it super easy to work out your layers.

So, on to my card. I used all Stampin Up products; Wonderful Romance stamp set and dies, Bloom & Bliss and Gingham Gala DSP and Sahara Sands and Grapfruit Grove papers plus a little bit of gold thread.

Not my usual style but I’m really happy how it turned out and will be using up more of my DSP in future.

The hop goes live on Tuesday 7th May and you’ll be able to vote for my card here!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
