WWC #282 – 5th Week Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and as it’s the 5th week of the month, we have an Anything Goes challenge this week!

I’ve been having fun making different fancy fold cards and this week is no exception. I followed a tutorial by Nancy Hoetker to make a triple pop up card. I ended up making two – one for a girl and one for a boy.

The first card uses the ‘Bubble Over’ stamp set and DSP from Stampin Up with a sentiment from ‘Sending your thoughts’.

The card fully opened up

The second card uses the ‘Painted Poppies’ DSP and dies with a sentiment from ‘Sending you thoughts’.

The open card.

Come join in the fun and make a project of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 4th August at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 3rd August 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

I’m entering this card over at AAA Birthday Card Challenges #15 – 3D.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Masculine Makes

Today I had fun making only masculine cards.

First is a card for the Paper Craft Challenge #385 which is a tic-tac-toe challenge.

I chose the top horizontal line of Birthday, Watercolour background and Masculine. I created a scene with the Stampin Up ‘Snow front’ stamp set and inks in Pretty peacock, Mossy meadow and Smoky slate. The sentiment is from PTI ‘Stylish sentiments birthday’.

Next is a card for Cardz 4 Guyz #249 – No patterned paper.

I made a background that looked like the ocean with my Stampin Up Pretty peacock ink and added puffy paint to look like white caps on the waves the die cut windsurfer is riding upon. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘Pedal to the metal’.

Lastly is a card for Lil Red Wagon #559 – Spots or Stripes.

I decided to follow the stripes theme (plaid is a form of stripes right?). I used the Best Plaid Builder from Stampin Up with Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and So Saffron papers. The dog is from SU Pampered Pets which I coloured with my Stampin Blends.

That’s it for today – I’ve got chores to do! Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your day.

Weekend Crafting

Can’t believe that we’re nearing the end of July – where has the year gone? With the resurgence of COVID-19 we’re back in ISO so nothing better to do than craft.

First up is a card for The Flower Challenge #46 – Summer/Winter.

I decided to follow the winter aspect and went with a sponged panel in SU Pool Party ink which feels cool and wintery to me. I added a SU stamp ‘Beautifully braided’ over the panel then did a little bit of thin mounting and my card was done.

Next is a card for Less is More #424 – Christmas in July.

I stamped my image along the edge, coloured with my Stampin Blends, then fussy cut around the image and mounted it over a bit of glittery white cardstock. I decided not to include a sentiment so that the focus remains on the characters.

Next is a card for TGIF Challenges #274 – Paper Scraps.

I love using paper scraps and cut up some SU DSP from the Prized Peony suite. I also used the die set to make the flower from a water coloured piece of card in Petal Pink ink.

Next is a card for:

My favourite food during summer is an ice-cream. I used the SU ‘Cool treats’ stamp set and coloured in the cute cone images and added them to a popped up sentiment banner with a little bit of gold thread behind.

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches #445 and Dies R Us #149 – Christmas in July.

I created an alcohol ink background with some gold flakes which I placed behind a circle die cut and added my sentiment over the top with a few die cut leaves from SU Forever Fern.

Well that’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Fusion: Summer

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I decided to only use the sketch this time around, along with a trio of goats from Stampin Up’s ‘Way to Goat’ stamp set coloured with my Stampin Blends.

I love these cheeky guys.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Challenges, challenges and more challenges!

Yesterday I got got crafty with some of my favourite challenges and a couple that are new to me too.

Today I’m going to virtually craft with my friend Michelle. Pre-COVID we used to craft together monthly in person but with COVID we’ve not been able to; so we’ve decided to give it a go virtually. Usually when we get together it’s more talking than crafty so we shall see what gets made!

First up is a pair of cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #29 – Butterfly.

Twofer requires you make 2 cards with different designs for different occasions using the same stamps. I have a cool butterfly and text stamp in my stash that I inked up twice and did some ink smooshed on 1 image and marker colouring on the other. I then cut a circle from the 2nd to fit the different design requirement. Sentiments are from the Ton and are for a thinking of you and birthday themes.

This is the 2 cards together.

Next is a card for Just Add Ink #514, which is a colour challenge.

I love these colours together and knew it would look fabulous with the new Stampin Up Many Layered Blossoms Dies. I die cut the base flowers from the Pretty Peacock cardstock, then the top flowers from the Pool Party cardstock, then I sponged behind with the Smoky Slate ink to fill in some of the flowers.

As you can see, I positioned the dies cuts over 2 card fronts and then separated them to make 2 cards.

Next is a pair of cards for 2 challenges with similar themes with stripes:

I used a die from Neat & Tangled ‘stripes coverplate’ for both cards to look like zebra stripes and the tee-shirt. I then added the zebra from Katzelkraft ‘les jungles’ on one card and a vellum peony from Stampin Up ‘Prized peony’ on the other. Sentiments are from Create a Smile ‘Shit happens’ and the Ton ‘Birthday strips’.

The SoSS card
The TLC card.

My last card is for 6 challenges:

I don’t usually combine that many challenges, but in this case they just fitted together!

I ink smooshed a background with my Kaleidacolor ‘Denim’ ink pad and created a stencil with a fishing die and sponged that stencil with my black ink. Who doesn’t find fishing peaceful and a great activity to do during my favourite season of Summer. I love getting into the outdoors and fishing at either sunrise or dusk is such a peaceful experience.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #280 – Kath’s Challenge: Anything Goes Masculine

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Kath is our host with a masculine challenge this week!

I made a card for a teenage boy who loves to play guitar.

Come join in the fun and make a masculine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 21st July at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 20th July 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Weekend Makes

Well I’m back to work tomorrow, so I’ve been busy making the most of my time to create. As per usual, I’ve been playing along with some of my favourite challenges.

First up is a card for:

I inked up a stamp set from Hero Arts called ‘Tulip Field Heroscape’ that is multi-layered and created a dutch tulip field scene.

Next is a card for The Male Room challenge #140 – Sport.

I created a sponged background that looks like the inside of a wave and added a die cut windsurfer. I added a little bit of puffy paint to emulate the white caps on the waves.

Next is a card for TGIF Challenges #272.

I used a stamp set from Stampin Up called ‘Embrace Each Moment’. I stamped the image over the shaped elements of the sketch and coloured it with my Stampin Blends.

Next is a card for The Card Concept #138a – Tropical Treats.

I was inspired by the colours of the inspiration photo and created a floral card with the Stampin Up ‘Blossoms in bloom’ stamp set on top of a watercolour wash background.

Lastly is a card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #33 – Hatty Christmas.

I had this cute little chickie in my stash and added him to a DSP circle and used a sentiment from the Ton.

Well, thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Stay safe.

Friday Fun

Well it’s the last day of my leave and as we’re back into 6 weeks of home isolation, I’ve nothing better to do than craft!

First up is a card for The Library Challenge #62.

I love the night sky of the book cover and recreated it with my Stampin Up ‘Sending Sunshine’ stamp set. I sponged Stampin Up inks in Pacific Point, Blueberry Bushel, Misty Moonlight, Crushed Curry and Basic Black. I added a few water droplets to look like the stars in the sky.

Next is a card for AAA Cards #169 – Made in Minutes and ABC Christmas Challenge – N no fuss or O over the top.

I decided to play along with the optional twist at AAA Cards and N for no fuss from ABC Christmas. I die cut the merry letters from some green card stock and added it to a white panel which is popped up over some Christmas poinsettia DSP.

Next is a card for CAS Colours & Sketches #378.

I used a floral die for my card; did a bit of die piecing and added a sentiment from the Ton ‘Easy Expressions: Birthday’ inked up in Pacific Point.

Lastly is a card for another colour challenge, this time over at TGIF Challenges #271.

I decided to make an accordion style card for one of Miss K’s friend’s who is turning 14. The party has been put on hold during this new lock down period but we thought we’d drop her card and gift off so she could enjoy it on the day. I used cardstock and DSP from Stampin Up and a stamp set from Lawn Fawn ‘Really High Five’.

The card folded up.
The card unfolded.

Well that’s it for today. Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe.

Fusion: Floral Cupcakes

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I played along with the sketch and the floral aspect of the photo. I stamped the main Altenew ‘Paint-a-Flower Iris’ on a piece of cardstock and coloured it with my Stampin Blends. I then cut that piece into 12 3×3 squares and popped them up on my white card base. I added the sentiment from Altenew ‘Label love’ set.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 22nd July at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 21st July 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
