WWC #291 – 5th Week – Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and as it’s the 5th week of the month we have an Anything Goes challenge this week!

I love making fancy fold cards and when I saw a tutorial by Brenda Quintana for a Star Fold card, I just knew I had to try it.

This is the card closed.

I will be making more of these cards and attaching some ribbon to a point so that it can also double as an ornament.

Come join in the fun and make a card/project of your chosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 6th October at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 5th October 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Making Merry!

Christmas cards that is!

Today I decided to make a series of Christmas cards inspired by a number of non-Christmas challenges.

First up is a card for CAS Colours & Sketches #389.

I liked the 3 verticle stripes and decided to use a stamp which had 3 different verticle Christmas trees. I ithem up with my Kaleidacolor ‘Caribben Sea’ ink pad and added them over some gold glitter paper and teal cardstock.

Next is a card for Colour Hues #2 – Navy & Turquoise.

I love the idea of using non-traditional colours on a Christmas card and decided to use my favourite Christmas tree stamp from Altenew ‘Sketched Evergreen’. I used Catherine Pooler inks in Fiesta Blue, Something Borrowed and Juniper Mist.

Lastly is a card for The Male Room Challenge #142 – Travel and Festive Friday #68.

I decided to make a card with Santa and his sleigh (that’s travel right?). I created a night sky background, a silver embossed sentiment and added a Santa sleigh die cut and my card was done.

As you can see I used purple, blue, metallic and stars from the Festive Fridays inspo board on my card.

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #290 – Michelle’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Michelle is our host with an all about occcasions challenge this week!

I’ve been going through my old stamping goodies of late and found my owl punch and decided to make a wedding card for a work colleague’s sister. I used a sentiment from PTI called ‘Side by Side Sentiments’.

Aren’t they just the cutest pair of penguins?

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your chosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. Monday Merriment

I’ve been doing a bit of card making during my work breaks today to try and get my work creativity going – with the continued lockdown here in Melbourne I’ve been feeling a bit blocked when I need to think creatively for work – I was able to make 3 cards for 4 challenges.

Frst up is for CASE this Sketch #390 and Just Us Girls #554.

I used 3 strips of card stock matching the JUGS colour scheme and then the flower and sentiment from the Stampin Up ‘Beautifully Braided’ stamp set.

Next is a card for Christmas Card Throwdown #35.

I created a slimline card with a die and added a trio of cute little penguins and a sentiment from the Ton.

Lastly is a card for The Flower Challenge #48.

I made the flowers usig the Stampin Up ‘Painted Poppies’ dies and added some colour to the centres with my Stampin Blends. The sentiment is from the Ton.

Well, that’s it for today – I think I’ve got my work creative brain sorted. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Sunday Makes

It’s a warm September day here but the wnd is blowing so I’m avoiding being outside as the dust and pollen are not my friends at the moment by stying inside and crafting.

First up is a card for Cardz4Guyz #253 – Monoshrome.

I opted for a neutrals tone with a touch of mustard. I had a scrap of DSP in my stash and added a bit of twine and a multi-stamped sentiment on the side.

Next is a card for The Card Concept #139 – Summer Harvest.

I was inspired by the blackboard and the sunflowers. I just bought some black Yupo and had a go at trying to draw a flower with my AIs by dropping the ink and blowing on it – it sort of looks like a flower – right? I added a white sentiment and a bit of dust to look like a blackboard.

Next is a card for Seize the Birthday #199 – Die Cuts.

I had a watercoloured panel in my stash that I die cut the birthday sentiment from . I then stamped the happy and addded a couple of raindrops for balance and my card was done.

Lastly is a card for Time Out Challenges #170 – Adventurous.

I have a friend who has caravaned all around Australia and said it was the best adventure she’d been on with her family; so I made her this card.

That’s it for today; thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Fusion: Cake

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I was inspired by the cactus and colours of the photo and colourd a digital image from Drawn by Krista with my Stampin Blends. I then created a stencilled background and sentiment I made on my computer.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 30th September at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 29th September 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #289 – Heidi’s Challenge: Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Heidi is our host with a masculine challenge this week!

Father’s Day was last weekend, so I made a card to send in the mail to my Dad. No stamping here just cutting, embossing and folding!

Come join in the fun and make a masculine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. Challenge Crafting

It’s Sunday, so that means I get crafty with some challenges!

First up is a card for Less is More #428 – Shades of Purple.

I love the birds in the MFT ‘Tweet Friends’ set and I loosely water coloured one and added a sentiment from Uniquely Creative ‘Inspirational Sentiments’.

Next is a card Trimmies Craft Challenege #568 – Christmas and Christmas Kickstart Challenge #37.

I love it when I can draw on some items that I have in my stash ready to put together for a card. I had this cute bird coloured and cut out already, so all I had to do was add some puffy paint to the trimmings on his cap. I then added him over a circular sentiment and my card was done.

Next is a card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #168 and Creative Moments of Craft #198.

I used one of the girls from Unity Stamps ‘Kara & Melissa Girl’ coloured with my Stampin Blends and a sentiment from Ink Road Stamps ‘Fck-a-Doodle-Do’. I have a friend this is perfect for!

My last card is for the Alphabet Challenge Blog – L is for ladybugs and 2 Craft Critter Crazies #42.

I used the Stamin Up ‘Little Ladybug’ stamp set for my card. I coloured the images with my Stampin Blends and popped them up with dimensionals.

Well, that’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by and looking.

Christmas Craft Creations – September – Shaped card

Well, this month we have another challenge over at Christmas Craft Creations challenge blog with an optional twist to make a shaped card.

Last year when I went to the Paperific Expo, I attended a class that made a super cool shaped/folded card with a bit of an easel effect too. I decided to recreate that card for this challenge.

The card fully opened.
It folds up into a neat little square for postin!

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CCCettes have made. Link up your card by 4am 8th October (Melbourne time) or 6pm 8th October (UK time).
