Saturday Makes

Today, I’m playing for a second time with some challenges as I was really inspired by their themes.

I embossed a Visible Images stamp called ‘Street Dance Boys’ and then ink smooshed the background with a Kaleidacolor ‘Melon Melody’ ink pad. I love how fun and bright this card is.

I also had some fun playing with my scraps of card stock. I made a large rainbow strip panel and then used it in 2 different wasy on 2 different cards.

First up is a card for Freshly Made Sketches #447.

I used a die cut floral panel from Paper Roses. The sentiment is from The Ton.

Next is a card for Seize the Birthday #197 – Rainbow colours.

I die cut a sentiment and it’s background from the rainbow strips and added some gold flakes behind it for that glow effect.

That’s it for today, got chores and cooking to get to! Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Fusion: Dragonfly

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I loved the sketch and the colours in the photo. I used a stamp from Picket Fences called ‘Aeonium African Succulent’ roughly water coloured with my distress markers in wilted violet and twisted citron. The sentiment is from the Ton ‘Easy Expressions: Birthday’.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 2nd September at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 1st Spetmeber 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Crafting with new goodies

I got a couple of deliveries this week and had to play with them straight away.

First is a card for the Global Design Project #253, which is a fab colour challenge.

I used a new Stampin Up set called ‘All Things Fabulous’ that is a gorgeous layering floral set.

Next is a card for the Library Challenge #65.

I was inspired by the clouds on the book cover and used a new stamp set and kit from Simon Says Stamp ‘Home Sweet Home’; coloured with my Stampin Blends and fussy cut to form the layers of houses.

Lastly is a card for Paper Craft Crew #388 and The Card Concept #138c.

I used a dog from the Tim Holtz ‘Crazy Dogs’ stamp set coloured with my Stampin Blends and added over a rainbow strip angled panel to match the beach towels and hammock. How cool does this little guy look?

Well, that’s it for today. I’ve got a Zoom catch up with some friends to get ready for. Thanks for looking and enjoy your day.

WWC #284 – Dawn’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Dawn is our host with an all about occasions challenge this week!

I played with a new die set from Stampin Up ‘Many Layered Blossoms’. I die cut the 2 large floral dies from heavy white cardstock. With the thinnest die cut I sponged a selection of rainbow inks over the die cut on a white card base. I then layered the larger die cut over that and sponged some Illuminate ink which gives it a really pretty shimmer. When I removed the die cut you can see the beautiful image.

I was able to make a 2nd card with the thin die cut which I mounted over the white die cut onto some black cardstock.

I love getting a 2 for 1 when I create.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 18th August at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 17th August 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Christmas Craft Creations – August – Animals

Well, this month we have another challenge over at Christmas Craft Creations challenge blog with an optional twist to add animals

I used a reindeer stamp from Kanban ‘Reindeer and Snowflakes’. I love this set as it has 4 different reindeer images and look fabulous gold embossed. I added some green ink smooshing to my corner and mounted the panel and sentiment on some gold glitter paper.

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CCCettes have made. Link up your card by 3am 8th September (Melbourne time) or 6pm 8th September (UK time).

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

3 for 3

Today I have 3 cards for 3 challenges.

First is for Cardz 4 Guyz #50 – Get Well Wishes.

I used a stamp set from Art Impressions called ‘Doggy Kisses’ that I’ve had in my stash but never inked up – shock horror! I inked up the sausage dog and coloured him with my Stampin Blends. I then stamped the paw print to make my background panel.

Isn’t he just the cutest?

Second is a card for Seize the Birthday #196.

For my card, I chose the top left diagonal of birds, flowers, stencil. I used my Stampin Up ‘Free as a Bird’ stamp set which I coloured with my Stampin Blends and fussy cut out. I popped it up on a stencilled background, some ribbon and a sentiment banner.

Thirdly is a card for Cardz4Galz #127– Stamp on Kraft.

I saw a super cool card by Marlene McDeavitt where she masked off portions of her large stamp and used the gaps for her sentiment. I loved this idea and decided to give it a go for this challenge. I used a background stamp from Catherine Pooler Designs ‘Cottage Garden’ and the sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays ‘Shenanigans’. I added a few white dots to the flower in the bottom corner so that it didn’t look too boring!

Well, that’s it for today. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Crafting with Birthday Goodies

It was my birthday on the 5th and I received a package of crafty goodness from my friend Michelle. It was her birthday back in May and I sent her a crafty package too. I challenged her for us both to use our new goodies this weekend.

First up is a super cute stamp set from PaperArtsy called ‘Eclectica3’. I love the really cute girl and boy images in this set and coloured them both with my AIs. For the girl I added a background with some Lindys Stamp Gang ink sprays over the heart embossed image from the same set.

Next is a stamp set from Uniquely Creative called ‘My Platypus’. This set has the most adorable platypus images and cute sentiments to match. I created an ink smooshed sky, coloured the platypus with my AIs and added some die cut reeds along with the sentiment and a few bees.

Next is a stamp set from Picket Fence Studios called ‘Peach & Piper’. I just love these bunny images. I stamped one pair and coloured them with my AIs. I added a bit of puffy paint to the tails for the finishing touch.

Thanks for these wonderful goodies Michelle and for being my friend.

Saturday Crafting.

Well it’s finally the weekend – first full week of being restriced to 5km from home, 1 visit of 1hr duration per household per day to supermarket and 1hr exercise within the 5km radius per day. Oh and compulsory mask wearing when outside. It’s frustrating but this is what we have to do to stem this second wave that Melbourne is facing. Here’s hoping that everyone follows the rules for the greater good.

Enough of my soapbox, onto the cards and challenges!

First up is a card for:

I used my Stamopin Up ‘Blossoms in Bloom’ dies for my card. I love how the layers fill in the floral images and makes for such a simple card. I cut the die cut image to fit along the card edges to match the sketch.

CasColours382

Next is a card for:

Again I used the Stampin Up ‘Blossoms in Bloom’ and cut it apart to fit the JAI sketch.

TGIF276

Next is a card for:

I used my Stampin Up ‘Timeless Trpic’ stamp set to make this card. I watercoloured the ocean and sky; then stamped the palm trees and added the die cut sentiment, some twine and a metal button that sort of looks like a shell.

ACB_I_4_Island

Lastly is a card for:

I’m cat person through and through; have been since I got my first cat when I was just 2 years old who was a ginger persian called Marmalade! This cat from Katzelkraft reminds me so much of him with his sassy attitude. I made the little face mask to match the sentiment rfom Stampin Up and to mee this signifies that there will be happier days ahead if we all follow the rules!

That’s it for today, thanks for stopping by and looking.
