4 Christmas Cards for 8 Card Challenges

Today I decided to make some Christmas cards for my stash and was inspired by 8 different card challenges with only 3 of them being Christmas related.

First up is a card for:

I used the M is for mistletoe and decided to make a monochromatic card using the CAS-ual Fridays (retired) ‘Merry Kiss-Mas’ stamp set. I made 3 panels and stamped over them and then popped them up to soften the black and white theme.

Next is a card for:

For this card I used the Uniquely Creative ‘Aussie Christmas’ stamp set. I loved that little possum in the stocking and decided to stamp 3 for the sketch and changed up the colouring of the middle one and gave hime some antlers.

Next is a card for:

For this card I used my favourite tree stamp from Altenew ‘Sketched Evergreen’ which I inked up in Altenew Galactic Stream and Teal Cave, then heat embossed the final layer using Stampin Up Iridescent Ice over black ink. I think this looks like tinsel – don’t you? I love making Christmas cards in non-traditional colours.

Lastly is a card for:

I used a stamp set from Stamps by Chloe ‘Bright & Breezy’ that came with a magazine and a sentiment from the Cat’s Pajamas ‘N-7874’. I made an ink smooshed background with a mottled cloudy effect, then stamped and watercoloured the bra and knickers before fussy cutting them out and attaching to the clothes line.

Well, I hope I’ve inspired you to make some Christmas cards. Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

1 stamp set, 3 cards.

Today I felt like colouring flowers, so I went to my stash of Altenew stamps and used the Precious Peony stamp set that has 3 awesome flowers. I stamped all 3 and then coloured them with a variety of my Stampin Blends (following 3 different colour challenges) and then die cut 2 of them out to make 3 cards.

First up is a card for:

This is an OLC, with 2 corners rounded and a simple sentiment.
Can you see the circles in those little buds?

Next is a card for:

Funny how that So Saffron goes a bit more yellow when I take a picture of it with my iPhone.

Lastly is a card for:

Now I used the SU Lovely Lipstick and Highland Heather blends for my pink and purple colours and it’s so bizzare how they look like shades of red when blended together and then photographed!

Well, that’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy your weekend.

Fusion: Summer Dreamin’

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I’m certainly dreamin’ of summer as we’re hitting the middle of winter here in Melbourne Australia! I took my inspiration from the photo and in particular the woven hat and the creamy/sandy colours.

I used a basket weave embossing folder, die cut some palm fronds, stamped and coloured a few flowers from the Stampin Up ‘Timeless Tropical’ stamp set, added a bit of twine and my sentiment on top.

I’m feelin’ summery already!

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 7th July at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 6th July 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Belated Birthday Cards

I’ve been so busy with work these days, that it seems I’ve missed quite a few birthdays and am in deperate need of some belated wishes cards! I made 3 today and managed to match them up with some challenges too boot!

First up is a card for the Global Design Project #296 – CASE the designer.

I stamped the largest flower from the CAS-ual Fridays ‘Pretty Posies’ set, kept it black and white then added it over some bronze foil cardstock (which when photographed looks rainbowish). The sentment is from Clearly Bessotted ‘Simply Said’ and is popped up over some bronze thread.

Next is a card for:

I used the main flowers from SSS ‘Thankful Flowers’ aloing with the sentiment from Clearly Besotted ‘Simply Said’.

Lastly is a card for:

I love it when a card comes together quickly, as did this one. I hade the rainbow strips, coloured dog and sentiment and ready made and waiting to be used in my stash; all I needed to do was to cut the circle window out and attach all the pieces!

Well thatnks for stopping by for a look – I’d better get this lot into the mail.

WWC #318 – Kath’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Kath is our host with an all about occasions challenge this fortnight!

I used one of the images from Rachelle Anne Miller’s ‘Christmas Ornaments’. I coloured this snowman with my Stampin Blends, then fussy cut him out and popped him up on a die cut tag of SU Pool Party cardstock then onto a white card base.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #187 – T is for Texture.

Well hello there. Today I am a guest designer over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as I was crowned Queen for the A is for Animals challenge.

This new challenge is all about T is for Texture.

I added quite a few different textures to my card – embossed background (old world paper from SU), I coloured some texture paste (icing on the cupcake) and added some diamond glaze (cherry). The stamp set is from Avery Elle called ‘cupcakes’.

Come join in the fun and link up your card by Saturday 26/6 1:55am (Melb time) or Friday 25/6 11:55pm (EDT).

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy the rest of your day.

Fusion: Seashells

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I was inspired by the sketch and the background colours in the photo as I need more masculine cards in my stash! I kept it pretty simple using some DSP, cork and punched out circles.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 23rd June at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 22nd June 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Christmas Craft Creations – June – Heat Embossing

Well, this month we have another challenge over at Christmas Craft Creations challenge blog to add heat embossing to your project.

I stamped the tree from the Stampin Up ‘Perfectly Plaid’ stamp set in old olive then heat embossed in white the branches and trunk of the same set over the top. I added a few splatters, the sentiment and some twine, mounted it on a crumb cake card base and my card was done.

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CCCettes have made. Link up your card by 3am 13th July (Melbourne time) or 6pm (UK time).

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Post COVID-19 Vaccination Crafting

Today I got my first COVID-19 vaccination. Fairly painless but am starting to feel a little bit tired. I don’t like to sleep during the day as it mucks up my night time sleep patterns, so I’m crafting to keep myself awake.

First up is a card for:

I ink smooshed my Kaleidacolor ‘Caribbean Sea’ ink pad onto some water colour paper and then die cut the Paper Roses ‘Leafy Circle’ die. I added this die to a plain white card ase with a bit of twine and a sentiment from Uniquely Creative. I love ink smooshing as each time you do it you get a different result.

Next is a card for:

For this card, I made a second ink smooshed background, this time just a little bit more subtle and added another die cut on top, this time its a person chillaxing in a hammock under some palm tress. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘Timeless Tropical’. This is what I see myself doing this next summer season.

Next is a card for:

I did a bit of ink blending over a hexagon stencil with Stampin Up Inks in Island Indigo, Going Gray and Basic Grey. I was inspired by the colours in the photo. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up ‘A cut above’ stamp set.

Lastly is a card for:

I used a Simon Says Stamp ‘Thankful Flowers’ and coloured the single flower with my Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. When I was colouring, I noticed that the inks were bleeding, but once it was finished, I quite liked the halo effect that resulted. CAS seems to be my natural style, I really like the quiet white space for your eyes to rest.

Well, that’s it for today. I think I need to go have a lie down now. Thanks for stopping by for a look.
