Craft Roulette #89 with Sandy Boone

I managed to catch this week’s Craft Roulette #89 session live.

Wowsers, loved the options and came up with a card pretty quickly.

  • Project – I created a swivel card
  • Colours – I used a Stampin Up DSP with beautiful deep colours
  • Element – Big Happy Birthday stamp
  • Random – The DSP runs along the bottom (is this enough?)

Just Add Ink #582

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great inspiration photo for you!

I was inspired by blackboard and the stockings hanging from the fireplace mantle. I created a z fold card, with blackboard looking background, a middle panel that looks like the fireplace mantle and then I stamped a few of the mice in stockings from the Hello Bluebird set ‘Joyful mouse’.

Fusion: White Christmas

Hello there, it’s time for our last Fusion Challenge for 2021 and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I was inspired by the sketch and followed the theme of Christmas for my card. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called ‘Numbers’ for my Stampin Up old olive background. I then die cut a series of Christmas lights from Stampin Up Cherry Cobler, Real Red and Poppy Parade cardstock and popped them up in the corner in place of the sketch circles. I opted for no sentiment as I wanted the embossed numbers to indicate the sentiment.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 9th December at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 8th December 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Craft Roulette #88 with Allison Cope

I missed the live for this week’s Craft Roulette #88 but caught it on reply this morning.

Wowsers, what interesting and challenging options did the wheel throw up this time! Thanks to Mary for explaining a number of the options as I’d never hear of cornucopia or retiform!

  • Project – I used DSP from Stampin Up
  • Colours – The colours of the DSP look like a pretty basket of fruit
  • Element – I added the word celebrate
  • Random – I chopped the DSP into a variety of shapes and added washi tape across all the joins

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #329 – Cathy’s Challenge: All Things Masculine

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Cathy is our host with a masculine challenge this fortnight!

I recently got the new collection of Catherine Pooler Design inks and knew that 3 of them would be perfect for a masculine card. I used Dress Blues, Uptown and Martini with the PTI ‘Watercolor Wonder’ stamp set and a sentiment from the Stampin Up ‘Biggest Wish’ stamp set.

Aren’t these colours wonderfully vibrant?

GD at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #198 – N is for Naughty.

Well hello there. Today I am a guest designer over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as I was crowned Queen for the E is for Everything Pink

This new challenge is all about N is for Naughty.

I had the perfect idea for this challenge – using Stampin Up ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ and a sentiment I created on my PC. I stamped and coloured Santa with my Stampin Blends and added some puffy paint for the fur on his gloves, collar and hat. Then fussy cut him out and added him and the sentiment to a crumb cake card base.

I definately know which friend will be getting this card!

Come join in the fun and link up your card by Saturday 27th November 3pm (Melb time) or Friday 26th November 11:55pm (EST).

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy the rest of your day.

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great colour combo for you!

Fusion: Triangle Bells

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I fused the sketch and photo for my card. I die cut some glittery sleigh bells and attached them to some khaki ribbon on the left hand side of my card with some linen thread. I then added a sentiment from Uniquely Creative.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! A trio of cards

Well it’s a lovely sunny Sunday here in Melbourne, quite a contrast from the past two days. We had a wicked wind storm come through Thursday night into early Friday morning, which saw trees down and power lines broken; as a result we lost our power – not a great thing when we’re in Spring and the temperature has been fluctuating from 12 to 28!

So Friday with no power, no internet and no heating was a challenging day; I wasn’t able to work, craft or use my mobile to surf the net as I needed to conserve what battery I had left. Thankfully we have a fire place and some wood left over from Winter to have a fire to help us keep warm.

I had my fingers crossed that Saturday we’d wake up and be connected again – no such luck! Fortunately not all out house is electric, we’ve got a gas cook top and gas hot water so at least we could have a cuppa coffee and a shower but that was about it. We had an update from the power company that we could expect our power to be restored at midnight on the 31st! That would be three days without power – fortunately it was restored around 4pm on Saturday night so we could start charging devices and dealing with our lost food and frozen items.

What I really missed in this short time was getting crafty. So despite the weather being lovely outside tday, I decided to make some cards.

Firstly is a card for The Male Room #155 – Black & White.

I used a stamp from Impression Obsession and a sentiment from Uniquely Creative and kept this card super CAS.

Next is a card for Seize the Birthday #226 – Make a Sunset Scene.

For this card I sponged a sunset sky with Catherine Pooler Design inks in Catching Rays, Orange Twist, Flame, Eucalyptus and Martini. Then stamped the scene using Altenew ‘Let’s go’ with a sentiment from SSS ‘Celebrate You’.

Lastly is a card for Shopping Our Stash #457 – You Don’t Bring Me Flowers.

For this card I used Catherine Pooler Design inks in Grape Crush, Drive-In and Queen for a Day for the background using a stamp from Stampin Up ‘Artistically Inked’ and then added an outline flower from Uniquely Creative ‘Spring Bouquet’.

Well that’s it for today. I’m off to the supermarket to restock my fridge and freezer. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
