Craft Roulette episode 82

Well I watched another Craft Roulette and couldn’t wait to play along.

What a fun video it was and how different were Laurel and Mary’s cards. Today the wheel spun the following criteria:

  • Project – Z fold
  • Colours – Blue background – I used some blue floral DSP from Stampin Up
  • Element – Pocket – I made a file folder pocket
  • Random – Wood – I used a wooden peg to hold my pocket closed

Check out the Craft Roulette youtube channel for some fabulous inspiration. Thanks for stopping by for a look and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #326 – Helen’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Helen is our host with an all about occasions challenge this fortnight!

For today’s challenge I’ve made a Christmas card; a rather unsual one. I followed another tutorial by Sam Calcott making an accordion style card. I used Stampin Up cardstock, DSP and stamps to decorate my card.

The front of my card
The back of my card
The accordian mechanism
The inside of my card, This will look great as a decoration on a mantle of the recipient.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 18th October at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 17th October 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Guest Designer – Less is More #453 – Colour Challenge

Well today I get to play along with Less is More as a Guest Designer thanks to this card!

It’s a colour challenge this fortnight and we challenge you to use yellow and purple on your card.

To me, this colour combo screams Halloween, so I masked off a panel on my card and did some sponging with my Distress Oxides in Mustard Seed and Wilted Violet. I then added a creepy looking rat and sentiment from Tim Holtz.

Come join in the fun and make a card with yellow and purple. Link your creation up here; you have until Friday 15th October.

I’m also entering this card over at:

Thanks for stopping by for a look, enjoy the rest of your day.

Craft Roulette #81

Well I watched another Craft Roulette and couldn’t wait to play along.

What a fun video it was and how different were each of the cards created by Crafty Al, Bitty Penny and Helen.

The wheel spun the following criteria:

  • Project – cut out card – I used a star cut out on the front
  • Colours – Organge + 2 – I used orange, red and yellow for my die cut stars
  • Element – Stars – I used die cut stars
  • Random – wide margins – I had lots of wide white space on the front of my card.

For my card I kept it super CAS. I used some nested star dies and cut the largest from the front panel and then 3 more from red, orange and yellow card stock. I then added a sentiment behind the front panel and largest star so it moved when you opened the card.

Check out the Craft Roulette youtube channel for some fabulous inspiration. Thanks for stopping by for a look and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Just Add Ink #574 – Just Choose Two

Hello there, today I am joining the Just Add Ink challenge design team. I’m extemely flattered to be included amongst such talented paper crafters and hope that I can inspire you they way they have inspired me for many years.

This week we have an awesome theme for you.

For my card I chose silhouette and stars. I decided to make a Christmas card and sponged a night sky with Distress Oxide inks in Prize Ribbon, Seedless Preservces and Black Soot. I added a die cut Santa sleigh silhouette and coloured a few stars. I left off the sentiment as I wanted the scene to be the hero.

Come join in the fun; we’d love to see how you were inspired. Check out the projects that the other artists at Just Add Ink have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post.

You have until Wednesday, 6th October at 10pm (AEST) Australian Eastern Standard Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Fusion: Poppy Door

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

For my card I followed the sketch and was inspired by the flowers in the photo. I used the Altenew craft-a-flower rose layering die set with a variety of Stampin Up cardstock. The sentiment is from Uniquely Creative.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 14th October at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 13th October 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Weekend Crafting

Despite it being Spring here in Melbourne, it’s freezing cold. Not condusive with going outside, so I’ve decided to get a bit crafts.

First up is a card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #194 U is for Ugly and can you believe my card is barely snarky!

I stamped and coloured a pair of llamas from the Stampendous ‘Llama Sweaters stamp set.

Next is a card for Lil Red Wagon #620 – Use a digi and CAS on Friday #214 – Sketch.

I recently bought some new digi images from Rachelle Anne Miller I just knew I had to print and colour one of them. I flipped the sketch on its side and I chose one of the little penguins from the ‘Christmas Penguins’ set. I kept it very simple as I wanted the hat on the penguin to be the standout.

Next is a card for Colour Hues #26 Purple & Pink and Happy Little Stampers – Christmas Challenge – ATG opt Non-traditional.

I used some more of the super cute Rachelle Anne Miller Chrismas penguins on this card.

Next is a card for the Dream Factory #96 – The Birds and Happy Little Stampers – CAS Challenge – Winged things.

I was inspired by the title of the book and used a Tim Holtz bird along with a sentiment from his small talk snarky sticker pack.

Lastly is a card for Christmas Kickstart Challenge #54 – Funny Ho Ho, Lets Squash It #12 – Sand it and Merry Little Christmas Challenge #38 – ATG.

For this card I used a Cttlebug embossing folder ‘Numbers’ and then sanded it to make them stand out more. I then added a coloured and fussy cut our Llama from the Stampendous ‘Llama Sweater’ stamp set along with a snarky sentiment I made on my computer.

Well that’s it for today, thanks for stopping by for a look; enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Craft Roulette #80

I’ve just finished watching Episode #80 of Craft Roulette with Mary Gunn and Julie Carrniere over on YouTube and got creative straight away!

The wheel spun up the following themes:

  • Project – A2 side fold card
  • Colours – Yellow background
  • Element – Postage stamp
  • Random – Masking

So I don’t have any postage stamp images but I do have a die that makes a postage stamp shape, so have gone with that as my mask. I then sponged Distress Inks in Scattered straw, Mustard seed and Squeezed lemonade. I added a few water drops to break up the solid look of the background and then stamped a flower from Altenew’s Precious Peony stamp set. It would have been an OLC save for the sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WWC #325 – Heidi’s Challenge: All Things Masculine

The wheel spun up the following themes:

  • Project – Funn Flap Card
  • Colours – My Fav 3 Colours
  • Element – Under the Tree
  • Random – Crinkle Inkle

I made a card with a little flap on the front using green, silver and white. The DSP is from Stampin Up ‘Whimsey & Wonder’ along with a trio of trees from ‘Whimsical Trees’ inked up in Soft Succulent ink. I crinkled the little bit of green paper on the flap.

Thnaks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
