A Touch of Ink

I just got the Stamping Up ‘A Touch of Ink’ stamp set and knew I had to play with it and it just so happens that there are a couple of challenges around with a bird and Spring theme to them.

I loved the colour scheme from Fab Friday which is also in the photo inspiration and then the birds on the book cover. I stamped the flowers a few times around the edges of the card base and then the hummingbird. I coloured with my Stampin Blends popped it onto Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron panels, added some twine in a bow and a few gems.

I can see myself playing with this set a whole lot more. Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Well hello and welcome to today’s post. It’s time for another challenge over at Get Creative Challenges where its Anything Goes with an optional twist St Patrick’s Day.

Labor Day Crafting

We have a public holiday here in Victoria, so I’m taking advantage of the bonus day to get my craft on.

As per usual, I’m being inspired by a variety of challenges.

First up is a card for:

I used a watercoloured Katzelkraft cat, some Tim Holtz fish bones and a sentiment I made on my PC.

Next is a card for:

I used a Rachelle Anne Miller digital stamp ‘Christmas Ornaments’ which I printed and coloured with my alcohol markers and added a sentiment I made on my PC

Next is a card for:

I used a Rachelle Anne Miller digital stamp ‘You can do it’ which I printed, water coloured and fussy cut out then popped up over a sponged sky and added a sentiment I made on my PC.

Lastly is a card for:

I decided to colour some Stampin Up ‘True Love’ DSP. I popped the flowers up on some rectangles and added the sentiment over the middle.

Well, that’s it for today. Thanks for stoppig by for a look.

Fusion: Green

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

Green is my favourite colour, so I focussed on that from the photo and went straight to my alcohol inks. I made a background and then used Alcohol Lift ink and the Paint-a-flower: Rose from Altenew.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 17th March at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 16th 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

I’m also entering this over at CASology #385 – Luck and Seize the Birthday #209

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #310 – Marsha’s Challenge: All About Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Marsha is our host with an occasions challenge this week! We’re making some changes at WWC; we’re moving to fortnighly in order to maintain our high level of excellence and advoid design burnout.

I tried to create a mountain scene using the Stampin Up ‘Waterfront’ stamp set on some watercolour paper. The sentiment is from another Stampin Up set ‘Heal Your Heart’.

I think I need more work on my mirror imaging but not bad for a 1st go.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choosing. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 9th March at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 8th March 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Christmas Card Sunday

Today I’m playing along with some challenges with Christmas as their theme and a couple of others where it isn’t but I’ve interpreted them that way.

First up is a card for:

I have a stash of pre-coloured and cut out critters and choose a Tim Holtz ‘Crazy Dog’ for this card. I added a felt Santa hat on my dog, stencilled a portion of the background and added a sentiment I created on my computer.

Next up is a card for:

I have recently discovered an amazing digi artist called Rachelle Anne Miller. She’s an Aussie and created this adorable Koala ornament which is 1 of a trio of Christmas Ornaments. What I love about digi images is that you can seperate them, resize them and print them on what ever medium you want. I printed this guy and then coloured him with my AI markers and cut him into a tag shape. I wanted a little something for the background but wanted it to be subtle so used a peice of DSP from Stampin Up called ‘Plush Poinsettia’.

Next is a card for:

I love the idea of using non-traditional colours for a Christmas card. I used a Stampin Up brick wall embossing folder, the loghtly sponged some SU Petal Pink ink an the corner and added a few die cut Christmas trees and a sentiment from the Ton ‘Christmas Strips’.

Lastly is a card for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #101.

I chose the top horizontal row – cute critter, square amd vellum. Again I went to my pre-coloured critters and chose a cute little piggy and added a felt Santa hat. I embossed the vellun with the Stampin Up ‘Old world paper’ EF, added the piggy and a sentiment I made on my computer and my card was done.

Well, that’s it for today. I’m happy I’ve added 4 more cards to my Christmas card stash. Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Guesting at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Today I am a guest designer at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers as I was chosen as the winner of their G is for Glitter challenge so I get to guest for #179 Q is for Queen.

I love the SoSS challenge as it allows me to be sassy – I also get to think of specific friends as I make these cards and in this instance I was thinking of my daughter as I tell her all the time that she’s got this shit handled!

Being a CAS card maker I decided to keep my main focus on the sentiment with only small bits of colour in my image. The ‘queen’ is from Technique Jumkies ‘Heads up’ and I created the sentiment on my computer; not sure if you can see it but I’ve gold glittered up her crown.

Come join in the challenge and have some fun with Edna’s theme.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Fusion: Rainbow Dress

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I love this photo, the little girl is so cute; it inspired me to make a dress with rainbow feathers on it. The dress form is an old SU dress die; I coloured the feathers with my Stampin Blends and added sequins to the bodice. The sentiment is from SSS ‘Believe in You’.

Come join in the fun and make a card based on the sketch, inspiration photo or fuse them together and play with both! Check out the projects that the other artists at Fusion have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Wednesday, 3rd March at 7pm Melbourne Time or Tuesday 2nd March 12pm US Pacific Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.
