It’s my 3rd week as Guest Designer over at CAS Colours & Sketches and boy do we have a great colour scheme for you.

They are Stampin’ Up color names just for reference; you can substitute other companies’ colors so long as they match closely. The three colors must be the only ones used, with the addition of white, ivory, black, grey, brown, metallic (gold, silver, or copper) or kraft for card bases/layers, image outlines, and sentiments. 

I used a stencil from Catherine Pooler Designs “Square Dance’ and sponged the 3 colours in a graded fashion. I added a sentiment from the Ton ‘Birthday Sentiment Stips’, a bit of woven ribbon and a few sequins.

Hello everyone, today we find out if our Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions are loosened or not – so to fill the time till the announcement, I decided to craft.

First up is a project for:

• As You Like It Challenge – Favourite Non-Card Project
• Trimmies Craft Challenge #573 – Anything Goes Optional Twist Christmas
• Tic Tac Toe Challenge #86
• The Sisterhood of Crafters – Lots of Layers

As you can see I chose the diagonal of Gold foil/Glitter, Circle and Designer Paper from the Tic Tac Toe challenge. I’ve been making a lot of Christmas ornaments lately so decided to make a wreath using a variety of DSP. I cut squares of 6×6 and folded the top into a point and then layered them in a circular pattern to form the wreath.

Next is a card for:

• Christmas Card Throwdown #39 – Winter Sweaters
• AAA Cards #176 – One Corner optional twist Cosy

I decided to use 2 stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp called ‘Ugly Sweater’ and a sentiment from ‘Sweater words & appliques’. I stamped the sweater on from Stampin Up DSP and popped it up over a little bit of sponging for depth.

Hello there, it’s time for another Fusion Challenge and do we have a great sketch and inspirational photo for you!

I used both the sketch and photo colour scheme for my card. I did a bit of a colour wash on some shimmery white cardstock, then stamped the Altenew ‘Paint-a-Flower: Hydrangea’ over the colour. I added some colour o the flowers and leaves with my Stampin Blends, then added some matching cardstock along the edges to follow the sketch. The sentiment is from the Ton ‘east Expressions: Birthday’.

Well, this month we have another challenge over at Christmas Craft Creations challenge blog aand our theme is to use Christmas Music on your card.

I used the singing cat from Katzelkraft #ktz152 coloured with my Stamin Blends and the sentiment is form Kaisercraft ‘Fa La La’.

I was a weekly winner during August and have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the month of October. I’m super stoked as I love this challenge group, they have great colour schemes and cool sketch challenges.

This week, it’s a sketch for you.

I received my SSS ‘Just Miss You’ kit the other day and decided to use some of the DSP, the die and the sentiment on my card. I used the sentiment in place of the circle in the sketch and the gold thread in place of the leaves.

Today I made a Christmas ornament card. I was inspired by the Colour of Hues #3 theme to use cream and gold on your card.

Seems I’ve slightly over exposed my photos on this grey Melbourne day so my cream looks a bit white. Think I need to invest in a photo box or a better overhead light.

I watched a Jennifer MacGuire video the other day, where she made a card with an ornamnet on the belly band. I loved that idea and just received a new Stampin Up order which included the ‘Dove of Hope’ stamp set and matching dies that I knew would be perfect for this technique. I also used a panel of the ‘Plush Poinsettia’ DSP which I coloured some of the flowers with my gold marker. I die cut the dove components about 6 times for each piece to give them enough depth to be able to hang properly on the tree.

I loved how this looked so made another one but used a differnt looking panel of the DSP which I coloured with red.

When I post these cards, I think I’ll need to use a padded bag to look after the ornament.

By my usual standards I have not been as productive this weekend, but in my defence the project I made this weekend took me almost a whole day to make!

I was inspired by the current Sisterhood of Crafters challenge to make anything but a card!

I’ve been playing with making a variety of boxes and saw this one over on YouTube (sorry can’t remember who created it) but it has a 2 tiered aspect to it. I did have to alter some of the measurements from the video to make it work, wasted a bit of DSP in the process – LESSON, next time practice with photocopy paper!

I created a card with a flap closure. I used my SU daisy punch for the flowers and did a little bit of inking on the petals and stamped some leaves and stems behind them. I embossed a strip of white cardstock for the inside that helps ground the sentiment flap.
