Just Us Girls – #499 – Word Week – Summer

Well hello and welcome to today’s post. For the month of August I am a Guest Designer over at Just Us Girls. I’m so excited as I love their challenges and can’t wait for you to see what I and the other DTs will be creating over the next 5 weeks!

So, let’s get started with this week’s challenge, which is a word challenge – SUMMER!

Now, I wasn’t feeling very summery as we’re in the middle of winter here and everything is grey and cold, but my favourite thing about summer is being able to wear my thongs (or as they’re called in the US flip flops) and walk along the beach.

I stamped the thongs from the Simon Says Stamp set called ‘Flip Flop Season’, coloured them in with my SU Granny Apple Green Stampin Blend and fussy cut them out. I then added some beach with some sand I had in my stash and a sentiment from ‘By the Seaside’ which came with a craft magazine.

  3. Welcome, Tristan!! What a great card to kick off the month as our Guest Designer! I love that sand with the flip flops sticking out of it and that sentiment is absolutely perfect for this. So glad you will be joining us for the next 5 weeks.

  5. Love it Tristan. Just perfect for those of us feeling the cold of winter. Can’t wait to slip on the jandals ( what we call them here in NZ) and hit the beach.

  7. Such a great summertime card! This Florida girl is getting a tad tired of the heat, but I guess it could be so much worse. So happy you are with us this month and for a moment could think about summer.

  8. Love your ‘summer’ card Tristan especially the sentiment as it is so true. I always go for a walk along the beach when we are by the sea. Kick off my shoes and get sand between my toes. Love the red balls on your thongs which I don’t wear. Super layout. Lovely to have you Guest with us this month.

  10. Your sandy beach and flip-flops certainly speak summer to me! We’ve been having a rather wet one here in Alberta, Canada, but fingers crossed a few days of warm weather will appear before Fall arrives! Thrilled to have you as our Guest Designer this month; looking forward to yet more of your fabulous inspiration!
