Christmas at Sweet Stamping – Anything Christmas & Optional Non-Traditional Colours

Well, this month is we have another challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stamping challenge blog with an optional twist to include snowflakes.

For my card, I decided to use pink for my Christmas tree. I inked up the Altenew ‘Sketched Evergreen’ in Catherine Pooler Design inks in It’s a girl, Be min and Party dress. I cut away a portion of the tree on the left side and added some super chunky silver glitter paper.

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CaSSettes have made. Link up your card by 3am 10th July (Melbourne time) or 6pm 9th July (UK time).

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Long Weekend Crafting

We have a 3 day long weekend this week for the Queen’s Birthday so I’m getting in some craft while the hubs and daughter do some geocaching.

First up is a card for The Male Room challenge #112.

I’m not sure where this stamp set is from, I found it at my local Savers store. I inked up one of the a spinner images (this counts as gaming right?!) and coloured it and the sentiment with some rainbow Stampin Blends. I did some shadow stamping and then die cut a rounded edge on the panel and mounted them both on a white card base.

A fun kid card.

Next up is a card for the Fusion Challenge – rainbow birds.

I used the ‘Free as a bird’ from Stampin Up as it has super cute birds in it. I heat embossed it to set the image before using my Altenew water colours pallet to colour them in. Each bird is just that little bit different in colour. I then fussy cut them out and mounted them to my card front. I then used the stitched dies to die cut a window from another piece and attached that over the top with a sentiment from the SU set ‘Itty bitty birthdays’.

I’m loving this stamp set atm.

Next is a card for the Library Challenge #34 – The Art of Stripes.

I was inspired by the ‘stripes’ in the title and decided to make another card for my masculine card stash. I used a stamp set from SU called ‘Sailing home’ with the matching DSP ‘Come sail away’ inked up in Night of Navy. I used the matching dies to cut the lighthouse, boat and sentiment out and layered them up on the DSP panels and the card was done. Using the co-ordinating products made this card a breeze!

I’m really happy with how this card worked out.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #224 Karen’s Feminine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Karen is our host with a feminine anything goes challenge this week!

I kept it pretty CAS for my card this week. I used a stamp set by Altenew called ‘A study in watercolor’ which I inked up in Distress inks in spiced marmalade and ripe persimmon. I gave the stamp a quick spritz before I stamped it to soften the look. I added some black and white splatters and an embossed sentiment from Stampin Up called ‘Itty bitty birthday’.

I’m pretty happy with how this card turned out.

Come join in the fun and make a feminine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. Get Creative Challenges #81 – Anything goes optional twist favourite colour

Well hello and welcome to today’s post. It’s time for another challenge over at Get Creative Challenges where its Anything Goes. with an optional twist to use your favourite colour.

Our sponsors for this challenge are:  Digi Drawn, Patties Creations and Colour of Love.

I have used a digital stamp from Pattie’s Creations called ‘Linda the Diva Llama’ which I printed and then coloured her in with my Stampin Blends. I added some crystal effects to her glasses to make them super shiny and some DSP to the side for balance. My favourite colour is orange, so just used a pop of it here.

I just love how sassy she looks!

Check out the Get Creative Challenge blog for details on the sponsor prizes and links to the other fabulous projects from the DT and come join in our fun and share your anything goes project by 1pm Monday 1st July (Melbourne time) or 11pm Sunday 30th June (US Eastern Standard time)

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

AAA Birthday Challenge #2

Well hello there – today I am a Guest Designer over at AAA Birthday Challenge #2 – Use Water Colours.

I decided to use a variety of Distress Ink blues that I smooshed in layers on some masked off water colour paper. I love how drying each colour before applying the next makes it look like actual water! I then stamped the flamingo and sentiment from an old Reverse Confetti set called ‘Fabulous Flamingo’ – can you see that I clear embossed the wing and beak? I added a couple of The Ton sequins for a finishing touch.

Come join in our fun and make a card using water colours and link it up here. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Sunday Funday

Well, winter has truly come here to Melbourne. It’s cold, dark and rainy – perfect conditions for crafting!

T0day I’m being inspired by the challenge blogs I follow.

First up: AAA Cards #141 and Seize the Birthday #166.

I was inspired to make a bit of a rainbow look on my card using the same Happy die cut out from 5 different colours (for the happy 5th birthday) and layered slightly off kilter. I added the word to a stitched card panel and then the base and I was done.

Next up is a card for Just Add Ink #459 and the Sisterhood of Crafters – Wedding/Anniversary.

I loved the colour scheme from JAI and thought is was perfect to use with my Stamping Up Free as a Bird stamp set. I did a bit of colouring with my Stampin Blends, some fussy cutting and added some colour to the back of a piece of vellum to ground the main image. I’ve got a wedding on the 1st of July so this challenge was perfect timing.

Next up is a card for Less is More #396.

I kept this card super CAS using a frame embossing folder from Stampun Up and some die cut leaves and hibiscus I had in my stash. I decided not to add a sentiment so this card could be used for any event.

My next card is another embossed one this time for the Alphabet Challenge – E is for Embossing.

I used a 3D embossing folder by Tim Holtz. I embossed my paper piece and then decided to add some sponged colour (SU petal pink and soft sea foam) to highlight the raised parts and added a sentiment from Altenew ‘label love’.

Next up is a card for Inkspirational Challenge #188 which is a photo challenge.

I love the colours in the dress, so used them to water colour my floral image from Simon Says Stamp ‘Beautiful flowers’ with my Altenew water colours. The sentiment is from Altenew ‘Label love’.

Well, that’s probably it for me today – thanks for looking an have a great day.

WWC #223 – Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and its an anything goes challenge week!

Today, I decided to make something other than a card – I made a stickey note holder/cover. I used some new Stampin Up products that I was able to get on pre-order as I’m a demo. The DSP is called Bird Ballad and the stamp set is called ‘Free as a bird”. I love both these products and have ordered a second DSP pack! I coloured the bird with my Stampin Blends and then fussy cut it out.

I just love how this project came out.

Come join in the fun and make a project of your choice. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 4th June at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 3rd June 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #222 – Helen’s “All About Occasions” challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Helen is our lovely host this week

Today, I have created a sympathy card using an old Stampin Up stamp ‘Swallowtail’ which I coloured with my Stampin Blends and then cut away a portion. I added some super glittery gold paper to the underside and the sentiment I heat embossed in gold.

I just love how this card came out.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choice. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 28th May at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 27th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

I’m going to add this card over at Inkspirational Challenge #187 which is all about gold dipped – so I think my gold glitter and sentiment qualify.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Today, I’m over on the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers blog as their guest designer as I was crowned Queen of their N is for Nerd challenge, so I get to play along this week with their I is for Ironmongery (steampunk) challenge.

This challenge has pushed me out of my comfort zone as I’ve never made a steampunk card and my style is usually very CAS, so this card has way more elements to it than usual.

Firstly I smooshed some orange and green watercolours onto my panel, then black embossed the cat from Stampers Anonymous called ‘Mister Meow Meow & Tweets Mcgee’. I love how proper this cat looks and added a monocle filled with crystal effects to look like glass.

Next I stamped some texture with a stamp from Stampin Up ‘Playful backgrounds’ and a sentiment from Altenew ‘Bad Days Happen’. It then needed just a bit more, so I added a die cut of gears from Stampin Up ‘Geared Up Garage’ and a clock face, spoon and fork that have been in my craft stash for many, many years.

I’m pretty pleased with how this card worked out for a first go at steampunk. Why don’t you come join in the fun; check out the blog for all the other amazing creations from the SOSS designers.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Post Voting Crafting

Today we had to vote in our Federal Election and I decided to get crafty after voting which is a much more plesant experience – LOL.

First up is a card for the CAS Colours & Sketches #321 challenge. I flipped the sketch to be portrait rather than landscape and opted for no sentiment.

I stamped my butterfly image and heat embossed it in black. I then used my new Altenew watercolours for the wings and added a bit of a grey wash to the text.

I think the colour in the wings just pops with the grey wash.

Next up is a card for 5 challenges:

I loved the FMS sketch and used 3 critters (including a bird) from the Paper Smooches set ‘chubby chums’ that I watercoloured, fussy cut out and added in place of the circles in the sketch. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ‘itty bitty birthdays’ and the striped DSP is from a MFT 6×6 pack called ‘black & white stripes’.

I think any kid would love this fun, bright card!

Next up I’m playing along with Color Throwdown #543 and The Flower Challenge #32.

I got this new set from Stampin up called ‘Free as a bird’ that is due to be released in the new 2019/20 SU catty and I think it is fabulous. I used the matching DSP ‘Bird Ballad’, double stitched nested dies along with my woodgrain embossing folder and my Stampin Blends for colouring in the stamped images.

I just love this colour scheme, so soft and feminine.

Lastly is a card for Less is More #395 and AAA Cards #140.

I used a stamp set I’ve had for ages from Papertrey Ink called ‘Uncorked’. It’s got lots of great wine glass and bottle images along with some fab sentiments. For my card I went a tad snarky! I used a few of my Catherine Pooler Design inks from the Spa Collection.

I know just the lucky person who’ll receive this card!

Well that’s it for today – thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
