Just Add Ink #715 Just Add Shading/Shadows

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great theme for you!

I decided to play with a technique I haven’t used for eons – shadow stamping with white ink. I used a layering stamp set from Altenew ‘Climbing Clematis’ and stamped th 1st image in white ink, then layered with a variety of pinks inks from lightest to darkest. Can you see the subtle shadow? Using a Crumb Cake card base helps acieve the shaow look. I added a pre-stamped sentiment from my stash and some sequins and my card was done.

Just Add Ink #711 – Inspiration Photo

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great inspiration photo for you!

I was inspired by the Christmas feel and the colours in the photo along with the puffiness of the marshmallows.

I created a scalloped background (MFT) that gave the feel of Christmas garlands with baubles (I added some red gems). I stamped, coloured and cut out a Christmas elf (MFT Santa’s Elves) and layered it all on white, red and green cardstock.

Do you think the puffy paint n the hat looks like marshmallow fluff?

Just Add Ink #709 – Colour Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great colour challenge for you – you can choose 3 or play with all 6 colours!

I opted to use 3 of the colours – orgeous Grape, Azure Afternoon and Misty Moonlight. Combined they said I needed to make a night sky, which is perfect for a dark looking Christmas card. I sponged the coloursonto my card base, did some water splatters that look like falling snow. I used 2 Stampin Up sets – Winter Woods and Watercolor Christmas.

I love how this looks, all dark and moody!

Just Add Ink #707 – Just Add a Sketch

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great sketch for you!

I thought the cut away circle area would be a great spot to highlight a Christmas element. I used some old Christmas DSP, added a coloured elf from the MFT’s ‘Santa’s Elves’ stamp set with a sentinment from PTI’s ‘Rustic Wreath’ stamp set. The DSP was looking a bit flat, so I added some blue stars.

Just Add Ink #703 – Just Choose Two – Balloons/Bright Colours/Birthday

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great theme for you!

I chose bright colours and birthday for my card. I was inspired by a card that Maheswari Rajaguru made recently and decided to use some retired DSP (Fine Art Floral) from Stampin’ Up for the sunburst shape. I added cardstock in the colours from the DSP in between the DSP rays and then stamped and die cut some flowers from the Stampin’ Up ‘Two Tone Floral’ stamp set. I used inks from Stampin’ Up in Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral and Pretty Peacock.

Just Add Ink #701 – Inspirational Photo

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great photo to inspire you!

My card was inspired by the colours in the photo. I used my Distress Inks – Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry and smoosed them onto some watercolour cardstock. I then die cut a few daisies to add interest on the front, a sentiment from Stampin’ Up ‘Special Moments’ and added the ink panel onto some yellow and orange cardstock.

I love ink smooshing as everytime you do it, it leaves you with a totally different look.

Just Add Ink #699 – Colour Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great color challenge for you!

Can I say that I struggled with this combination? I thought it was going to be easy but I tried 3 times before I was happy. I wanted to give even balance to each colour but just couldn’t get it working till I inked smooshed a piece of water colour cardstock and then patted off some of the colour to tone the saturation down. I then added a die cut panel using a coverplate from Paper Rose ‘Blooming Flowers’. I added some diamonte gems to the flower buds and a sentiment from Uniquely Creative. I’m so happy with how this version came out.

Just Add Ink #697 – sketch

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great sketch for you!

I thought our sketch lent itself to a quick and easy Christmas card. I used a few different sized circle punchs, some retired DSP from Stampin Up ‘Trimming the town’ and an inked up embossing folder ‘Expossed brick’, a sentiment made on my PC and a few glitter dots and my card was done. I love the effect you get when you ink up an embossing folder and then run the paper through your embossing machine.

Just Add Ink #695 – Just Add Chocolate

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great theme for you!

I found this a VERY broad theme and it stumped me for a bit, but then my daughter had me buy her a block of chocolate at the supermarket which lead to my inspiration.

To make my block I cut a series of squares and popped up the smaller ones to look like chocolate block squares. I added some crystal lacquer to make it shiny, wrapped it in foil, added an embossed outside wrapper and a belly band using a die cut with a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays ‘Coffee talk’ and my card was done.

Just Add Ink #691 – Photo Inspiration

Hello there, it’s time for another Just Add Ink Challenge and do we have a great inspiration board for you!

I was inspired by the night sky images in the board so did some sponging with Stampin Up inks in Pacific Point, Starry Sky and Night of Navy. I sprinkled a bit of water and patted it dry to make them look a bit like stars and then stamped the Bare Forest stamp from Indigo Blu on top and added a sentiment from Uniquely Creative and some gold thread to soften the darkness of the card.
