The Flower Challenge

Today I’m playing along with the current challenge over on The Flower Challenge blog. The challenge is to use your favourite flower, there are terrific sponsors and prizes (I’d love to win the Concord & 9th prize) as this challenge celebrates TFC’s 1st Birthday, so why don’t you join me in playing along.

Well, I found it rather hard to choose just 1 favourite flower stamp set but managed to narrow it down to 2.

The first card uses a background stamp from The Ton called ‘Dahlia Close Up’. I white embossed the stamp and then messy water coloured it using my Zig markers. The sentiment is from Altenew called “Label Love” and I added some silver thread behind the sentiment for that little extra touch.

This next card using a stamp set by Altenew called “Magnolias for Her” which I white heat embossed, coloured with my Zig markers and then fussy cut out and popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from a PTI set from the “Beautiful Brushstrokes” kit which is retired.TFS13_2

As you can tell from a number of my posts, I love to messy water-colour. One day I might learn how to neatly water colour!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Hey there! I’m a card-making enthusiast with a passion for creativity that knows no bounds. Currently, I’m fortunate to be a part of four fantastic international card design teams, where I get to explore my craft and connect with fellow artists from all corners of the globe. It’s amazing how the world of card making can bring people together, and I’m constantly inspired by the diversity of styles and ideas that come my way. Beyond my card-making adventures, I lead a pretty busy life in the learning and development field, where I work full time as a Learning Lead. I thrive on helping others grow and reach their full potential, and it’s a role that keeps me on my toes and constantly learning. When I’m not immersed in the world of work or crafting, you can find me on the netball court, coaching and sharing my love for the game with a bunch of amazing individuals. So, whether I’m crafting, guiding professional development, or coaching on the court, I’m all about embracing lifes colorful and creative possibilities! Thanks for stopping by my corner of the web, and I hope you enjoy exploring my card creations and more.

  1. Hello Tristan: Both this cards are gorgeous but my favorite is the one you submitted to THE FLOWER CHALLENGE gallery. Love the white embossing and your amazing “messy” watercolor wash, it’s beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE and for letting us know what prize you want, good luck and I hope to see you play again next time.
