With Valentines Day fast approaching, I thought I should get cracking on a card for my hubby who has been a pillar of support this past month with my mum becoming terminal and then passing and I want to let him know how much I love him.
I’ve been inspired by a number of challenges when making my card:
- Paper Craft Crew #324 (Something new, Valentines, Floral)
- Just Us Girls #473
- The Paper Players #427
- Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #127
- Time Out Challenges #128
- CAS Watercolor – February – Red & Pink
I used a stencil from Tim Holtz called ‘Scribbles’ which I roughly sponged Distress Oxides in Candied Apple and Picked Raspberry and then lightly spritzed them with water to get a bit of mixing happening. I cut the panel into a diagonal, added a little bit of black and white paper to make the panel pop and stamped my sentiment from the Power Poppy called ‘Big Scripts’ in the bottom corner.

I love how this colour combo worked out. Thanks for looking and have a great day.
Beautiful card Tristan! I love that stencil and you have inspired me to dig mine out. I love that you are so organized to enter one card in so many challenges!

Tx Michelle. I tend to file challenge emails in a follder for later use, so I was lucky that a number of them suited the Valentines theme.

Beautiful card for your hubby, Tristan! What a lovely way to say you love him and appreciate his support during a very difficult time. Your stenciled roses are gorgeous and artsy with the little spritz of water to get a bit of movement. Wonderful layout with your diagonal panel trimmed in black and white. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

I’m so sorry for your recent loss, Tristan … your husband is sure to love this gorgeous card to show how much you appreciate him and the support he has given you during this difficult time. The graphic stripes complement wonderfully the softness of those lovely sponged and spritzed stylised roses. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out. Anita 🙂
