Crafting instead of chores!

Otherwise know as procraftinating! I should be doing chores and getting ready for the work/school week but continuing to be in COVID lockdown I really can’t be bothered. It’s also my mother’s 3rd birthday in heaven today and I’m feeling rather emotional and just need to be in my happy place.

First up is a card for:

I used a cute stamp set from Stampin Up ‘Turtle Friends’ that I inked up on a slimline card. I’ve been a terrible aunt and needed a belated birthday card.

Next is a card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #191 F is for f words. Warning about language on this card!

I watercoloured the Penny Black ‘Hang on tight’ kitty and added a sentiment from The Ink Road ‘Zero fucks’. This is going to a friend of mine who is sick and tired of being in lockdown!.

You think it’s a cute card and then you see the snarky sentiment!

Next is a card for:

I watercolourd the gorgeous bunny from Colorado Craft Company ‘Hello Bunny’ and added the sentiments from Essentials by Ellen ‘Pure Magic”.

I’m really happy with how the rabbit fur has turned out.

Lastly is a card for Just Add Ink #567.

I just love the colours and the rug in this inspiration photo and used them to design my card. I stamped The Ton ‘Cherry Blossom’ twice; once in black and then the second time I used my Stampin Up markers to selectively colour that stamp. I then punched three circles from the coloured piece and overlayed them on the black panel to create a very subtle spotlight effect.

Well that’s it for today. Miss Kat and I are going to back some of my mother’s favourite things in her memory – honey joys, chocolate crackles and banana muffins.

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  1. Heartful hugs Tristan. Best to be in your happy place on these days. And you have been creating some amazing cards. The one for your friend… just perfect! I can image all those lockdowns can be draining. Love the last card too… (well love them all) but that one is simply so elegant. Take care – give Miss K a big hug too and enjoy remembering the good times.

  5. Oh my goodness,…all the critters – so cute. The rabbit is gorgeous. The little turtle fellas are just to stinkin’ cute! Perfect interpretation of the sketch. I need to look into this snarky card blog – seems to be quite the fun place to be – I feel that way quite often and can totally relate to that card. The flowers are gorgeous – love how you popped out the colors. Thanks for joining us this week at CC&S.
