Today I’m trying to craft while looking after an unwell Miss K. Don’t know whether it is just a cold or the first signs of tonsillitis – she’s got a very busy week coming up (Rep netball trials for 2020 and her final Band concert) so I’m making her stay in bed, drink lots of fluids and conserve her energy.

Me, I’m taking advantage of her being quiet to do a bit of card making.

First up is a card for the current Tuesday Morning Sketches #525.

I used a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called ‘Big Birthday Wishes’. I created a background with the balloon image using Catherine Pooler Design inks and then stamped one of the sentiments onto a die cut piece for the centre, then added a bit of blue and white twine to finish the card.

My next card is for the Global Design Project #211 – Happily Every After.

I used a stamp set from Stamps by Me called ‘Beautiful Inside & Out’ which is coloured with my Stampin Blends.

My next card is for the current challenge at Seize the Birthday #176 – for the kids.

I’m having loads of fun with this splatter technique for a background and used it again here with a silhouette image and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp ‘Celebrate you’.

Next is a card for 2 challenges:

I used a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp called ‘If the hat fits’ along with a swirling star stencil.

For my card, I used a die set from MFT which is an alphabet balloon set. Can’t get more focus on a sentiment than this right?!

Hello and welcome to my 3 for 3 post, where I’ve made 3 cards for 3 challenges.

First up is my card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #145 – Z is for Zaphod Beeblebrox! We could make a card incorporating space, galaxy, aliens, spaceships etc.

I created a galaxy background panel and stamped a unicorn image from Visible Images and a sentiment from the Ink Road ‘Zero fucks’ that I think is perfect for this card.

My next card is for the Library Challenge #43 – Secret Garden.

I used a stamp from Catherine Pooler Designs ‘Climbing flowers’ with my Kaleidacolour ‘Vineyard’ ink pad smooshed onto some water colour paper. I fussy cut out parts of the background and mounted it onto a black card base with a sentiment from the Ton.

My third card is for CAS Mix Up – October – Foiling.

I created an alcohol pearl background panel with some gold Deco foil. I then die cut the Paper Roses ‘Leafy circle’ from a card front and mounted it over the AI panel with a sentiment from the Ton.

Hello and welcome. Yesterday I went to the Picture to Page craft show with my friend Michelle and we had some fun shopping and joining in some mini classes.

Today, my cards use some of the things that I bought yesterday.

First up is a card for Addicted to CAS #169 – Creature.

I use a stamp set from Katzelkraft ‘les Jungles’ which I water coloured and fussy cut out the giraffe and added a sentiment that I thought really matched the image. I added a bit of black and white twine to provide balance to the top of the card.

Next is a card for CASology #353 – Feather.

I used a Penny Black stamp set ‘Winged Beauty’ and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment ‘Happy & Smiles’. For the images I coloured each part with my SU markers and stamped repeatedly with my Misti to get the colour variations.

Next is a card for The Male Room #121- Stay CAS.

I saw a blog post recently by Visible Images around creating a splatter effect with ink and a syringe; so of course I had to give it a go. I used SU reinker Pacific Point (if you do this make sure you do it inside a box as it gets everywhere – LOL). I then printed and fussy cut a digital motorcross rider and used a sentiment from Avery Elle ‘Dude’ and the card was done.

Next is a card for Fusion – Dragonfly.

I chose to follow the sketch and used a background panel I made at the craft show and die cut a reindeer on the corner of the frame. I opted for no sentiment as I didn’t want to ruin that gorgeous panel.

Today I have a card for the current Less is More #405 challenge. They have a challenge where they pick and then you pick. They chose sparkle and our options were gloss, matte, pearl or chalky.

I really liked this concept and ended up making two cards (I’m entering the 2nd card to the challenge)- one with sparkle & chalky and the other with sparkle & matte. I haven’t made a chalkboard card for ages so this was a reminder about how cool these types of cards can look.

For my ‘chalky’ card I used a Whimsey stamp called ‘Christmas chalkboards 1’ which I stamped on a black card panel and then lightly sponged the white ink to look like blackboard dust. I layered the black panel on a silver sparkly base (hard to see in this pic).

This second card I used Catherine Pooler Design ink ‘Spruce’ and did 3rd generation stamping with a PTI ‘Watercolor wonder’ stamp. I then used a Stampin Up punch that looks like holly leaves (or reindeer antlers if you cut them apart – LOL) which I punched from vellum and 2 types of silver sparkle paper. I added a bit of twine for that extra matte feel and some splatters to give a bit more balance to the rest of the card.

I really love how this card turned out so will be making a few more in other colours to add to my Christmas card stash.

For my card I borrowed an adorable Christmas mouse stamp from my good friend Michelle which I heat embossed and then water coloured. When I stamped it, I pressed to hard and had some ink where it shouldn’t be, so rather than throw it out I decided to make an oval shaped card which cut off the offending boo boo!

I created an alcohol ink background panel with some reds and greens that blended to give a bit of a nice Christmas tone. I then used up a die cut piece from my stash over the top and mounted both onto a white card base.

I chose a digital image from Just Me called ‘Christmas Elves’ which I coloured with my Stampin Blends. I die cut a scalloped oval for my card base and realised it didn’t stand on it’s own so cut a little bit off the bottom.

Well daylight savings has started – yay – so I can pretend that I slept in today! Nah, I love daylight savings, I enjoy getting home from work and it’s still light and I can sit outside and enjoy the smell of the jasmine on the fence.

Miss K is away camping with a friend so I can craft without feeling guilty about not spending time with her!

Today as per usual I’m playing along with a few challenges. First up is The Sisterhood of Crafters – Friend(ship).

I created a sunny looking alcohol ink background, I used a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays ‘Sassy Smiles’ and added a few flower sequins.

Next up is a card for a new to me challenge – Always Fun Challenge #130 – Anything Goes.

I made a card for a guy with a stenciled background in SU grey granite, a digital SU motorcross image and a sentiment from Stampers Anonymous ‘Handwritten Thoughts’ that seemed fitting.

Next is a card for The Card Concept #120.

I was inspired by the blue and white striped jug and flowers. I used an old SU stripe background stamp inked up in CP Juniper Mist and the flower is from Altenew ‘Wallpaper Art’ coloured with my Stampin Blends.

Next is a card for the current Alphabet Challenge Blog – N is for Naughty.

I used a stamp set from The Ton called ‘Born Classy’ and a Unity Stamps sentiment that seemed a perfect match.

I loved this sketch and decided to make a Christmas card with a bow die, some SU DSP and a bit of Wink of Stella for that shimmer. How simple is that?

My last card is for the Just Us Girls #508 – DSP challenge.

I used some SU Magnolia Lane DSP and coloured the flowers red to make them look like poinsettias. The sentiment is a digital one from The Ton.

My card today is for the Time Out Challenges # 145 – Breast Cancer Awareness. One of my really close friends was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. She had the surgery then radiation and chemotherapy. So far 1.5 years on and she’s still clear. She is an inspiration how she’s tackled this disease and her joy for life and positivity is what we all should aspire to.

I used a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays called ‘Supercalifragilistic’, some alcohol inks and a bit of Nuvo flakes.
