Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Kath is our lovely host this week.

My card today uses a stamp set I got as a gift from a friend in Adelaide and I can’t get enought of those little piggies. They have the most adorable expressions. My sentiment is from Hero Arts ‘Snarky Mix & Match Messages’ and is perfect for someone who’s about to turn a big ZERO birthday! I added the black splatters for a bit of a piggy look!

Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 14th May at 9:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 13th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Christmas at Sweet Stamping – Anything Christmas & Optional Snowflakes

Well, this month is we have another challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stamping challenge blog with an optional twist to include snowflakes.

For my card, I created an emboss resit background with a snowflake card from Kanban ‘Vintage snowflakes’ and Distress Oxide inks. I added a little bit of gold thread to provide some balance to the top of the card.

Come join in our fun and add to your Christmas card stash. Visit the challenge blog to check out the inspiration the other CaSSettes have made. Link up your card by 3am 12th June (Melbourne time) or 6pm 11th June (UK time).

I’m also going to enter this card over at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Kylie’s International Blog Highlights – May – Encouragement Theme

I’ve recently joined the Stampin Up team of Kylie Bertucci called the Crazy Crafters and am joining in her blog hop all about encouragement cards.

Kylie has a #loveitchopit idea to use your DSP, so I’ve taken the plunge and started to chop my DSP into card fronts and strips. I did a lot of deep breathing while I did this as I’m a bit of a paper hoarder. I also used Kylie’s fabulous card size templates which make it super easy to work out your layers.

So, on to my card. I used all Stampin Up products; Wonderful Romance stamp set and dies, Bloom & Bliss and Gingham Gala DSP and Sahara Sands and Grapfruit Grove papers plus a little bit of gold thread.

Not my usual style but I’m really happy how it turned out and will be using up more of my DSP in future.

The hop goes live on Tuesday 7th May and you’ll be able to vote for my card here!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

A weekend of challenges

I’ve been crafting up a storm again this weekend; I’ve been trying to distract myself from all the Mother’s Day advertising – with having lost mum 3 months ago, the coming of this day is really causing me pain and so I’ve retreated to my craft room to avoid all types of media.

I’m playing along with some new and old to me challenges this weekend.

First up is a new to me challenge -> {PIN}spirational Challenge 237.

I used a stamp set from Concord & 9th called ‘Globe greetings’ for my card. I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and added a bit of gold splatter.

Next is a card for a pair of challenges -> Shopping Our Stash 394 – cupcakes and Freshly Made Sketches 386.

I used a stamp set from Altenew called ‘Layered cupakes’ and some DSP from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I knw it looks like I double stamped the sentiment but this is what the sentiment actualy looks like!

Next I was inspired by the sketch and colour them over at CASology 341 and MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge 435.

I had some pre coloured and cut critter images in my stash, so this card came together super quickly.

Next is a card for CAS Colours & Sketches 319.

I used Stampin Up ‘Butterfly gala’ for my stamp and die cuts. I sponged an oval and a little bit of the edges under the die cuts.

Next is a card for a new to me challenge -> Cards 4 Guys 218 Whatever the weather. I’m also putting my hand up for a DT spot they’ve got free.

I used dies ofrm Stampin Up ‘Rainbow Builder’ and the sentiment is from Altenew ‘ Rain or Shine’. I love this card and it will go into my Valentines Day stash.

Don’t you love the lightening bolts coming from the clouds?

Next up is a card for another pair of challenges -> Addicted to CAS 158 and Little Red Wagon 495.

I used a panda die that I borrowed from my friend, Michelle and left off the sentiment to keep this card super CAS.

Next is a card for another pair of challenges -> Alphabet Challenge – C for clean & simple and Just Add Ink 455.

I use Stampin Up sets called ‘First frost’ and ‘Flowing fountain’ for this card. I added a little bit of embossing behind the sentiment for some texture.

Lastly is a card for Less is More 394.

OLCs are sometimes tough but this one came to me pretty quickly. I did some masked off sponging with a soft word die and yellow ink. Then I stamped the flowers (petals) from Clearly Besotted ‘Dandelion dreams’ over the top for a crisp clean look.

Well that’s it for today, a diverse collection of cards. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #219 Heidi’s Feminine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Heidi is our lovely host this week with a femine anything goes challenge.

My card today uses a stamp set from Hot Off The Press called ‘Easy Watercolor Florals’ and MFT ‘Plaid BG Builder’. Firstly, I stamped the stripes in Momento Black, then I stamped one of the floral images and then used my Altenew inks in Rose Quartz and Mountain Mist. I punched out some circles in black and white card stock, layered them to mimic the stripes and added the sentiment which came with the floral stamp set.

Come join in the fun and make a feminine card. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 7th May at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 6th May 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Favourite Flower

Today my card fits 4 challenges:

I used a stamp from Concord & 9th called ‘Hello Lovely’. From the first day that I bought this set as has been my favourite floral stamp. I love that you can use the included solid stamps for the petals and leaves (as I did on this card), you can colour it yourself or you can leave it blank for a stark look.

I used Stampin Up inks in Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sea Foam, that I stamped in second generation to give me 4 different colours to fit the KCC colour challenge. The sentiment is from Altenew ‘Label Love’ and I love this sentiment set too; it’s perfect over a main image without detracting from it.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

ANZAC Day crafting

Today is Anzac Day – a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served. Lest we forget.

I was at a dawn service today, so have been up for quite some time and have decided to put this extra time to good use and get crafty – considering I’ll have no time this weekend as it’s all about Miss K and netball with games, tournaments and watching the Melbourne Vixens and Magpies play.

I’m finally working my way through some pre-stamped, coloured and cut out pieces I’ve had in my stash for a while.

Card #1 is for AAA Cards #138 Along the edge.

I chose along the bottom and left edge for my card layout (no sewing though!). The floral set is probably from Altenew which I borrowed from my friend Michelle and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp ‘Amazing’. I water coloured the flowers then added some twine and sequins for the finishing effect.

Card #2 is for Freshly Made Sketches #386.

I stamped and die cut the butterfly with Stampin Up ‘Watercolor wings’, used some black and white polka dot DSP from Catherine Pooler Designs and a sentiment from Stampin Up ‘Butterfly gala’ for this super quick and CAS card. Don’t you love the gold on the wings?

Card #3 is for a new to me challenge, Tuesday Morning Sketches #500.

I flipped the sketch on it’s side, masked of the centre panel then stamped one of the leaves from the Kaisercraft ‘Whisper’ stamp set in Catherine Pooler Designs eucalypus ink – I did some double stamping without reinking to give some depth. I then stamped the butterfly and sentiment in black ink; added a couple of sequins and this OLC was done.

Card #4 is for CASology #340 – Africa.

My card uses an image from Katzelkraft ‘Les jungles’. I adore this flat elephant and made a sentiment on my PC to match how he looked.

Lastly, card #5 is for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #138 – N is for nerd!

I created a card for my ‘nerdy gamer’ hubby. I used a stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps called ‘Game on’ (this set has some great snarky sentiments in it) and the Altenew cube stencil. I added a few ink splatters to finish of this card. This will go into my stash for next Valentines Day!

Well, I’d better get making my DT cards which are due in May. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

WWC #218 – Marsha’s “All About Occasions” challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Marsha is our lovely host this week

Today, I have created an encouragement card. I used a new die from Sizzix (it’s a set of 3 cut out blossoms) that I die cut from a white panel. I used my Alcohol Pearls behind the die cut to look like it is leaves and petals. The sentiment is from MFT called ‘Anything but basic encouragement’

I love how CAS this card is and how the flower is the hero.

Come join in the fun and make a card for an occasion of your choice. Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created, take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Tuesday, 30th April at 10:00 Melbourne Time or Monday 29th April 5pm US Mountain Time to link up your project.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Monday Funday

Today I’m crafting again. I seem to be on a roll at the moment, either that or I’m ‘procraftinating’ when I should be doing housework!

First up is a card for Freshly Made Sketches. #384.

For the stripes, I scored some lines and added a water coloured little piggy and sentiment for the rectabgle shape.

Next is a card for the April CAS Stencil and CAS Christmas challenges.

I used some transparent texture paste from Ranger over a stencil on some black card stock. The elf is from an MFT set called ‘Santa’s Elves’ that I coloured with my SU Blends. I die cut it to make a tag.

Next up is a card for the CAS Watercolour Apirl challenge.

I used both the solid and outline flowers form the Unity Stamps set called ‘Donna poppies’. I used CPD Rockin Red ink for the main flower. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted called ‘Poppy’.

Next up is a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This is my first time playing ith this challenge, I love thier stamps.

I used one of the adorable inages from the Hedgie Friends set that I coloured with my SU Blends and fussy cut out. I used an ALtenew stecnil with SU Illuminate ink and a little bit of thread at the top.

Lastly a very different style of card for me. Its for the current challenge over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenges #510.

I used 3 types of DSP from a SU pack called ‘Tea for Two’ with some paper ribbon under the flower and a bit of fringed ribbon under the stamped sentiment from Simon Says Stamp called ‘Amazing’ (hoping the stamped sentiment counts as the image part!).

Well that’s it for today, thanks for looking and have a great day.

Easter Crafting

Hello and a Happy Easter to you. I’m taking advantage of the 4 day break from work to get my craft on; oh and to eat hot cross buns and easter eggs!

Warning, this is another long post as I’ve played along with a variety of challenges and made 6 cards – I will keep it a bit briefer by not putting my process, just the cards and products used.

Card #1 is for the current CASology challenge #339 – leap.

The stamp is from Stamping Bella called ‘Uptown girl Bentley gets blown away’; not sure where the sentiment is from; I borrwed it from a friend without noting the company. I think this girl leaped to catch these balloons and stop them from flying away!

Card #2 is for Seize the Birthday #163 – birthday anything goes.

The floral stamp was borrowed from a friend (again I failed to note the manufacturer) and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp called ‘Amazing’. Isn’t this what everyone want’s to hear on their birthday?!

Card #3 is for As You Like It which is all about your favourite animal.

I used a Penny Black stamp called ‘Hang on tight’ and the sentiment is from Altenew ‘Bad days happen’. Cats are my fav animal; I’ve grown up with them since I was 18 months old; my life would not be the same without them in it. My current cat is a 13 yr old ginger boy called Oscar, who has nearly lost his eyesight but still gets around as if he can see and he often gets onto things and then looks like he is desperate for help to get down just like this guy!

Card #4 is for Just Add Ink #453 – choose two. I chose bunnies and flowers.

I used a stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays called ‘Somebunny’ and added a bit of movement to the bunny and balloon with a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire demonstrate. The flowers are little punched flowers using a Stampin Up retired trio punch.

Card #5 is for Addicted to CAS #157 – Humour.

I used an Altenew set called Peony Bouquet’ and a sentiment from Hero Arts called ‘Snarky Mix & Match Messages’. I love how you first see the Congrats sentiment, then when you look a bit more closely you see the snark!

Lucky last card #6 is for current Male Room Challenge #109 – anything goes with an optional twist of an OLC. I didn’t do the twist.

I used a stamp set from Katzelkraft called ‘Les Jungles’, a sentiment from Altenew called ‘Bad days happen’ and a stencil from CAS-ual Fridays. I find myself saying this phrase to my hubby often when he gets frustrated with the speed of our internet!

Well, thanks for looking and enjoy your Easter.
